somethings i just dont posted on the net.

posting is a great support tool.

i like to vent it all out in a post

then i copy it to an outliner  where i can organize it .

i dont keep a med journal anymore  cause im not on meds anymore.

the thing about a journal is that if im true to it  i can start to see some of my tendencies.

a therapisst is trained and skilled to look for these things in a professional language with terms that mean nothing to me.

but as i look over what ive written i see what thier talking about in my own language .i see what they are seeing

like a panoramic of my mind over time.

---

but a med journal targets  type/dosage/ effect / and moods/ behaiors/

so in combination with posts the two can help you see how the meds are changing you.

i cant remember how i felt a few weeks ago .

i can barely recalll what i ate  but recalling how i felt  is out of sight out of mind.

-----

also i had a tendency to skip dosages   but when i started keepig track of it i started to see why it wasnt havng as much effect. i skipped/forgot to take it more often than i thought. but seeing it on a form  helped me curb that habit.

Hi Kj, Hi all.

I have got an ADD tandem partner. We meet once a week, fixed time, to talk about things.

I am combined, phases with and without hyperactivity and she is without hyperactivity. We are both very much diagnosed cases but her ADD is without the hyperactivity and appears more like a mood problem. She gets days when she cant do anything, even though she is on Ritalin. I have to tell you all that the tandem has made a massive difference to me on a daily basis. It is wierd because we dont actually do anything, just talk, but I feel so supported. I have someone outside of my family that I can talk to freely and openly about the ADD. We havent started to talk about private personal things yet but it just has a super effect on my work performance, the feeling of getting somewhere, the feeling that noone can take it away. Even if I loose her I can get another one (found her in a self help group) that means I have a free and effective tool to help myself. It is really great.

It is interesting to read about the mood problems, it is a real anchor which stops her from taking off in life and knowing where she is going and what she wants. Can identify in a different way.

When I was seeing a marriage counselor before being diagnosed with ADHD, she suggested I go and get tested by a pschyatrist for ADHD and Bipolar disorder.  She said that symptoms of those 2 can sometimes appear very similar in some people.  And can often both exist at the same time.

Since my diagnosis of ADHD, (I didn't have bipolar), I have learned a lot more about the disease and ADHD often comes with at least one other mental health issue and in cases like mine where I wasn't diagnosed until an adult, there can be several co-morbid diseases that develop.  When a person has a disease, mental or physical, that goes untreated for a long time then other problems can begin to develop because we aren't functioning optimally.  Just like the if you get a mild flu but don't stop to rest it can turn into pneumonia or worse, one mental health problem left untreated can lead to more problematic ones.

Sometimes it is really easy to tell which came first, and other times it can be a lot harder like what it sounds like for you.
