pixiemom, There are several long threads about omega 3s on this message board. I will try to bump them up for you. Although they take some time to take effect and most people do not see big dramatic improvements, I do believe they are helpful, especially when taken long-term, and, like JohnD said, they are good for people in many ways, for overall health. My daughter's pulmonologist recommended that she take omega 3s for her asthma. She has been taking them since first grade in one form or another and I do believe they are beneficial, although of course I have no way of knowing what her symptoms would be like if she had NOT been taking omega 3s for the past 7 years. She has been taking omegas with a high EPA:DHA ratio for the past couple of years. My understanding is that people with blood disorders or who are taking blood thinners should not take them, and of course I am not a medical expert, so do your own research and consult a doctor if needed. Best of luck.
