heh heh I was talking to a friend one time and I mixed up a word, she asked me what I meant and I finally drug the correct word out of my head. She said "Oh, I forgot for a second that I was talking to YOU..." She said it in a non-insulting way but it was very telling to me.
If you just heard me talk sometimes, you'd never realize that I'm actually intelligent.
Half the time it drives my husband crazy and the other half he ROFL - that's when I get irritated.
My favorite is when I combine two different but same meening words together. I almost think I could write a new dictionary of new words.
Example would be if I'm responding to someone and my brain pulls up the word 'happy' but my mouth is starting to say 'glad', I'll end up saying "I'm so 'glappy' about that.
Yikes, should I be writing children's books or what . . .

Oh my gosh!!! I do that sooooo much!! It's a constant source of amusement to my teenager, LOL How about the word, "stummy" ya know, stomach + tummy Of course my daughter is not immune either, she likes to eat a " sam handwich " every once in awhile for lunch!
kibbles00238601.7739236111tongue-tied- yes. one of the most embarassing was after a wonderful, extremely delicious meal a customer cooked for me. i went to tell her how awesome the food was, and how full i was. i ended up blurting out "that was the most awe-full dinner anyone has ever cooked for me."

LOL, you reminded me of another good one...
My first year of teaching I had a student who I found a bit difficult to handle. He was making some inappropriate comments and I meant to say I didn't need any "smart comments' Meanwhile I was thinking "asking smart alec questions"
What came out was "I don't need any smart Ask questions"" ummm - I think you can figure out what that sounded like
On occasion, when I speak, my words get all jumbled up.. for example, saying "likely" instead of "like me."
When my medication is working it seems that I am even worse! I'm afraid someone is going to think that I am drunk or something... I don't feel buzzy or strange ( except at the very beginning when the med first kicks in) and I am very focused and calm.
But geez, I cant talk straight!! Anyone else have this problem? Is it a side effect that will go away with time?
