I second that!!!!!

Denfinity backstoke, its so much easier, except i dont do the backstoke arms thing, I kinda kick and drive myself like a boat. I have banged my head a few times...

That or underwater, I like swiming along the bottom, I dont have to worry about staying afloat, lol.

Breat strock, butterfly, front craw, never managed to stay on the surface with those.

When I was on swimteam as a kid my two best were breaststroke and backstroke. The only problem was that when you do backstroke they teach you to find a marker (flags, or something on the side of the pool) then count how many strokes from that to the edge so you don't hit your head. I usually forgot to look for the marker or else I forgot how many strokes I was supposed to count! I bumped my head too many times to count on more things than just the side of the pool - hey maybe that's what's wrong with me!  Tottally davidornado, wot I do.

What I call the space hop. Take as much air as possible, then exhale some, to achieve a neutral boyancy, then bounce around the bottom of the pool. My daughter loves to sit on my shoulders while I do this.

King of the rock.

Biggest splash.

Marco Polo.

At age 7 and 8 I was one of the Best at state level in kids swimming at Backstroke. Not anymore. I just love water time and so do our kids. [QUOTE=annidagostini]

Do you prefer a certain style of swimming?  A book I read said that people who have ADD or ADHD will prefer to swim on their backs or sides or breaststroke, but that we do not like to swim in the front crawl (is it called freestyle?) You know, where you have to have your face in the water and your arms and legs going and you have to turn your head to breath?  That is the style that people with ADHD are supposed to not like - according to this book.

I was wondering how accurate that is.

Thanks for your responses!

What I would like to know, is how to get a job that pays me for do such strange research.

Crawl and butterfly hmmm... that front crawl thing is the way i prefer to swim... i don't like backstroke because i can't see where i'm going and run into walls 'n stuff.  breast stroke takes too much effort. For me - drowning would be my preferred way of swimming LOL!  Seriously - never was able to learn.  Water in my eyes and they burn like crazy.  Quit trying after they tried to force me to learn at age 7.  Don't miss it - I live on the prairies and don't own a pool or a boat!.IMac38943.7932986111Definately backstroke, but I'm dyslexic too.

I just learned how to swim last year, and I still don't know how to do breast stroke or butterrfly or sidestroke. I like front crawl and backstroke-- perhaps front crawl slightly more than backstroke.

I have no problem floating-- one of the few advantages to being overweight!

I'm not a very good swimmer.  Back or side stroke.

More of a front crawl dog paddle kind of made up hybrid...hate the sensation of not being able to touch the bottom though..IMac38943.792962963

I never learned to to the front crawl right, couldn't stand having my face in the water.  Swim underwater, dog paddle, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke.

Funny thing, I couldn't learn to swim in a pool.  When I had lessons in a pool, I was deathly afraid of the water.  The following summer, however, went to a lake (couldn't see the bottom, go figure), and learned to swim there.  I can swim fairly well now.

I was as a kid one of the best backstrokers in Tx. Our son loves swimming and still needs work at all of it. RN I did swim team at age 7 and 8. We can't give our son/daughter what my parent's gave us kids cause of financial differences.

breast stroke is pretty much all i swim (either under or above water) - and i am fairly fast at it for the style of stroke but never bothered competing.  my 11 year old neice however is a champion at national levels for breast stroke (she's very competitive - unlike her aunt).

i never got the hang of crawl but i always thought it was because i couldn't get the breathing right.  i am not that hot at backstroke or butterfly either though.
