FOCALIN XR withdrawal....normal?? | ADHD Information

I'm a 15 yr old girl with ADD,  well, I'm pretty sure I've been living with ADD for quite some time, I daydream alot, and have about a 60 second attention span...but I recently saw a doc and he  diagnosed me....and prescribed me focalin XR 10 mg. I'v been taking it for about a month. The first few days were ok, I felt kinda calm, and lost my appetite, but within a week, I started to feel happy from it (euphoric), and since I'v been taking it...I'm alot more 'social', (not as shy). Well, now that stage is gone...now I just feel al little more aware and awake...no loss of appetite anymore, and still more social :)....but it doesnt fully work...I still find myself daydreaming,  but not as much as before of course. If I skip a day taking it, like on the weekends....I feel like crap and get a headache, are withdrawal symptoms like these normal? more importantly, should I ask for a bigger dose? (20 mg)

Hard to know.  My son is 12 and recently started taking Focalin XR 10 mg.  He's doing well on it -- no complaints.  I think you should describe what you are feeling to your doctor and ask him whether he think you need a bigger dose.  By the way, a dose of Focalin XR 15 mg is available by taking a 10 mg capsule and a 5 mg capsule at the same time.  That way you wouldn't necessarily have to jump to 20 mg.
