My six year old is on 36 mg a day, and he takes the timed release which is in his system for 11 hours....after it wears off he gets very sleepy.
And yes it took a few days to notice any difference;
Good luck I hope it works for you.
I was prescribed Concerta 36mg and 54mg. I took the 36 mg yesterday and it had no effect. I was actually yawning all day and tired. Is this common? Will it take a while to kick in? Thanks.

I've been on concerta now for 6 weeks and its a difference between night and day. My only side effects are loss of appetite (I have to force myself to eat) and it gives me a little perkiness throughout the day. At night after the 12 hour release I sleep soundly, but don't feel like I'm 'Crashing'...everyone reacts differently. I t does help me focus a LOT better.The subtle even effect of Concerta is deceptive and so you never get the obvious hit that is noticed on other meds. It will take a bit of observation on your part and those around you to notice the change. I have not personally experienced Tiredness that you mention, Knowledge, but maybe others have. It might be worth checking back on posts over a longer period of time. Concerta is licenced since 2000 as far as i know so maybe others have had a similar experience with it.
Cheers! Knowledge.
