Guide to Starting an ADD Support Group | ADHD Information

Thankfully it started working as of a little while ago.  I registered.  Thanks!

Still can't get on a lot of pages.  Don't know if you saw it but nearly every forum and group I check out regularly got hit by a hacker calling himself "warrior".  Took out thousands of pages for things like breast cancer help, ADD help, etc.  Scumbag.  Many are still down and a lot of ISPs are now banning them until they clean up their security.  It's a damn shame.

It's working for me and has been for others too. Are you still not able to get on?

Tara, are you still w/the Van group? I'll be going for the 1st time next week...lalaland is a cold place, like a very beautiful cold woman...I hope being around people who I can learn from will help me...to get through this

I'm actually from the US but Pete Quily who is hosting this teleclass is part of that group. I'm sure it's a great group!!!!

I know a lot of phpbb forums were hit. Luckily my forum at www.livingwithadd.com wasn't hit because I just recently upgraded the software. But, I do know others who got hit. It's really too bad that people have to spend their time doing things like that.

Free Teleclass: The Imperfect Guide to Starting an ADD Support Group

www.addclasses.com

For: Adults with ADD/ADHD

Some people who might want to start an ADD support group in their area don’t, because they may suffer from 2 common treatable conditions.

Credentialitis and Perfectionism. There is hope for those with both conditions.

You Don’t:

You don’t have to be a coach or therapist/doctor/psychologist/psychiatrist to start up an ADD support group. You do not have to have your ADD perfectly managed at all times to start an ADD support group. Lord knows I don’t. You do not have to know everything there is to know about ADD to start an ADD support group. You do not have to be an expert in group facilitation to start an ADD support group.

You Do:

You DO have to want to help others with ADD. You do have to want to make a difference in their lives by bringing them together for mutual support and information so they realize they’re not alone You do have to be willing to listen more than you talk. You do need to have an open mind. You do need to have a basic understanding of ADD.

If you ever got frustrated because there was no ADD support group in your area, and no one who you could really talk to for more than 15 minutes who really knew ADD here’s your chance to do something about it. Create one. I created the Vancouver Adult ADD support group that’s affiliated with CHADD Vancouver with some other people, and I’m not perfect and despite that, it’s going pretty well.

Tara - I can't get onto www.addclasses.com .  Was it one of the websites recently attacked by the warrior virus?  Those sites are banned by my ISP because of their low security.  Could you check and make sure that it works ok?  Telus (my ISP) won't give me a list of the banned sites so I can't check from my end.
