Is your daughter on anything other than Stratterra? I ask this because, I have had severe problems with constipation, but Stratterra has not given me a problem.
Don't take constipation lightly. I have had several surgeries because of complications attributed to it.
She was no on any other medication at the time all of this started. In January we moved to another state, which the Dr. is attributing the constipation to. However, I am beginning to disagree with her. My daughter goes for her checkup next Wed. and I am considering discussing stopping the Strattera with her Dr. at that time. I will do anything to relieve my daughter of this pain she is in.I wish you well.
I find lots of water, fruits, and fresh veg. helpful.
Traveling can upset the balance.

If you read the prescribing information, you'll find that constipation is one of the common side effects of Strattera.
And I am not convinced Strattera is safer than Ritalin. There are reports of damaged livers and that is NOT a good sign. Damaged liver can lead to death. Ritalin in high dose can cause cardiac problems - rarely sudden cardiac arrest - but considering that it's been prescribed for 40 years for millions of children, the safety is pretty amazing. Strattera cannot make that claim anymore.
Hi, I have a 9 year old son on Strattera, he was suffering from stomach pains also. I took him to the doctor and they upped the dosage, since then he has not had the pains. Also I highly discourage stopping the Strattera, it's the only drug so far that isn't addicting and doesn't contain the amphetamines.
