Grouchy Coming off Adderall?? | ADHD Information

no- not really for me... i take regular adderall twice a day.

hey knowledge, I have been taking Adderall for about 3 weeks now, 20 mg. a day brand name XR, It really turned everything around for me, I don't like the coming down but I was taking Dexedrine in the summer and that was a nightmare. Adderall is not so bad when I spent most of the day crashing on the Dex.
I think in Canada we are still a little less "med crazy" but not much. My doc is  not a med pusher.

I see posts where people make pronouncements about meds as if their experience speaks for all. The Adderall was a miracle for me, it might stop working eventually or I might have to up my dose but right now it has changed me drastically, for someone else it may do the reverse...
it seems ironic that people who are discussing having adhd which is adhd  "brain chemistry" would not see that the delicate balance of our genetic makeup and our hormones etc. would make it freakish for all  people to have similar or even comparable experiences on meds, it is great to find people on the board who you can compare notes with but I wouldn't ever think that my experiences on a drug should influence anyone else......meds seem to be a point of contention a at times.

I tried Adderall the other day and it didn't really do much. I took the 20mg orange pill and was awake and some what focused I guess but when I came down, MAN I felt terrible. Anybody else have this happen?

I don't understand. Why doesn't ANYONE EVER reply to my posts. Well off to another board I guess. This is my 6th post and out of all 6 posts only 3 have replied. I'm just really confused. This board must be very small or people have no interest in giving me info. Sorry bad day today

Off to another board I go. Peace out yall

Hi Knowledege,

I think the postings slow down a bit on the weekends. That is at least what I have noticed.

Are you taking the immediate release Adderall 20mg or XR? Also, how many hours pass before you notice yourself feeling "grouchy".

I have experience with the Adderall 20,25,30.

My son took this medicine and it was a complete nightmare.  At night he would whine, cry, mad, yell, talk back, and just was not himself.

We ended up at a shrinks office, they put him on Trileptal, they had to stabilize his mood, Doc said, he shown large signs of depression/anxiety, that was brought out with this medicine.(Adderall)

Before we went to the shrinks office, I am also ADHD and thought I would be fully prepared when we made our appearance with him.  To help with getting him a accurate diagnosis. Anyway, I took 20mgs of Adderall one day, to see if what I thought was happening to my son was actually happening with this medicine. Guess what, I too felt super charged during the day, and really well focused, but at night when I came off of it, I was crying and felt depressed also.

I am now taking concerta 27 mgs along with my son and things are going alot better.  My son is still also taking the Trileptal. The shrink wants my son to try Focalin XR, it is suppose to have less side effects, coming off. Its a new medicine that they took out the side effects and left the Ritalin part that works on ADHD. Sounds promising and we will have to see how that goes.

I bet you don't know that taking 20 mg of Adderall is actually 40 mgs of Ritalin, it is twice as strong. Doctor visits are quick and I really think they lack in educating people on these drugs, and side effects that can come out. Research, Research your self.  The drug companys are suppose to come out with better risk signs on there paper work for stimulants in the future.

When you take concerta you are just more even. I don't even feel the come down effect that I felt when I took the Adderall. No Adderall for me.
