I got into this response, and it developed so that I may consider it for publication.

However, would y'all mind commenting on any of the points, words, statements, etc., in order to adjust them if necessary? Thanks.

I will attempt to post the same request in the ADHD Books and Articles & Non-ADHD forums for alternative comments. You don't have to respond to all, therefore.

My hypo thesis is that after this, a lot of the euro-ADers were driven westward (by external or internal motivations; or both) to the Americas, or died trying, or died trying to remain, and not fitting in (in wars, pogroms, etc.). Hence the lower population levels of AD/HD on the Continent. However, with the termination of westward expansion, it would seem logical that the remnant ADers would increase in numbers, if not perhaps in ratio as well.

Once in the Americas, North America in particular, those with westless, impulsive AD went West. That's why you find a higher concentration of ADers in North America, and more on the West Coast than the East.

By the time the West was One, there was no more West to attain, so ADers are piling up on the last frontiers, or the last known frontiers, with the PacO as a barrier to the continued distribution or expansion of AD/HD.

Although swarmers, most influential, seasoned ADers seem to be more tolerable of other cultures, also more tolerable and compassionate than other cultures, perhaps from the empathy of their own experiences. Hence the "Give me your tired, your poor, your homeless, your ADers". ADD the fact that ADers are passionate about freedoms, such as freedom of expression, and freedom from persecution, so they hold themselves in check from violating other's rights, for the most part, b/c theirs’ were so violated historically.

Furthermore, in the USA at least, but most importantly as well, due to guns, germs, and steel, there is the huge tempering factor of the eclectic nature of its population, the majority of which is not AD. These non-ADers do exert their own political influences to which ADers submit, albeit some rather reluctantly. Hence, the Power of the Pacific Barrier in holding back further Westering of Western ADers.

Traditionally, the Westering ADers didn't know why they were Westering, in the context of cerebral neurotransmitter anomalies; as AD/HD was unknown, although prevalent. In addition to the freedoms of the new world, Westering was most likely the path of least resistance, although expected riches (sic. Grandiose thinking) were also a motivation.

The plight of the modern ADer then becomes where to express their wanderlust, energy, and unique abilities. As well as where sociopathic expressions of AD aren't so troublesome or disruptive.

The long term solution is the discovery of new population frontiers, whether here on this planet (in extreme environments such as jungles, oceans, alpine, or glacial regions), or through exploration and adaptation of near space or far space. Expect the percentage of ADers in those populations to increase, just as it has in North America, beyond the concentration now seen on the West Coast.

The short term solution would have to be creative and multi-faceted, in the least.

Creative in the sense of creating the tools and technology necessary for the next expansions, or of considering individual opportunities in extreme careers, such as the scientific frontiers (nuclear, physical, chemical, or biological), space exploration, emergency medicine, oceanic exploration and development, crab fishing, construction, petroleum, and international or civil conflict resolution.

Additionally, activities involving radical challenges, such as extreme sporting activities, market investments, or business development would also serve to temporarily satisfy the drives of an ADer. These ‘hobbies’ often develop into careers or industries for the successful ADer and their support teams.

Multi-faceted solutions would result from concurrent continued AD research in the behavioral, psychological, medical, biochemical, physiological, biological, social, anthropological, or other disciplines.

Concentration of research and developments should focus on comprehensively effective AD management strategies, such as including, but not limited to, AD benefits exploitation, AD detriment mitigation, such as the fine tuning of diurnal AD pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, alimental inputs, environmental manipulations, and other coping mechanisms or technologies.

Midterm mitigation possibilities include genetic or biotechnical reconstruction or manipulation of internal neurotransmitter cerebral environments or cellular ecologies.

Threatening long term solutions may include consideration of ADer population control, such as has occurred historically with other cultural differences in various societies. Population control could take the form of birth control, birth quotas, forced abortions, mandated sterilization, institutionalization, segregation, forced medication, or, God forbid, genocide.

Extreme care should be considered in these scenarios, as the societal benefits of the contributions of acclaimed ADers, and countless fameless ADers, in history have far exceeded the combinations of individual ADer detriments to humanity.

Elimination of AD would result in the loss to our species a certain level of beneficial developments, creativity, and energy.

Explosive expansion of AD would result in chaotic growth, precipitating a lack of resources necessary as infrastructure in taking advantage of useful developments.

Exploitation of AD would result in the violations of individual’s rights, again resulting in the loss to our species of a certain level of favorable attributes.

Balanced AD management strategies, in the short term for now, concurrent with the development of long term strategies, will result in achievements beyond even ADers’ imaginations.

That's a/b as indepth as I'll get for a while. That is the outline, eh? No? I do have some docs squirrelled away here somewhere I store this stuff, but that doesn't mean it's sorted. Wanna help?

POV = pint of view ~ In Ireland, you need to drink 8 pints of view, then walk home slobber. It's illegal to be found sober in public (or smthig lack that)...

had a quick read --- and thought was great. just thought you missed a bit about spirituality. i think and believe that ADD-ers in particular are (not religious necessarily) but more in close contact with their spiritual side.

could be totally wrong. perhaps a poll on this board. but there might be more of interest to add on that too...

anyway - am again in rush (which is good thing btw). man - not only can you read long posts, you can write 'em too. will get

No, the bar keeper reminded customers to mind their P's & Q's because he wanted to make sure they kept track of how much it was going to cost them so they had to remember if they were drinking pints or quarts.
