tis a fun forum that has allowed me to laugh at myself!!Bite your tongue David you scallywag!
Humour is one of the ONLY human attributes that can be BOTH a weapon and a shield!!!!
Keep your humour. Above all things this will give you the most joy outside of the bedroom you can have legally!!
I love your sense of humour - although I admit a percentage of your posts go clear over my head by many feet - and between my legs on many other occasions.
Keep it up buddy boy - one can never smile enough and you've made me smile often!

of course I'm serious - and don't call me Shirley"

Changed me a GREAT deal!
I found the site pre-medication and bookmarked it. When I got where I began to clear my head I began to chat as a newcomer and got much encouragement.
Quickly I found myself WAY improved over the old me. I would come in and let people know the fantastic changes that were made in my life. It helps so much to return the love and joy I felt when I began.
I find that I feel less guilty about the people I left in the dust during my worst years if I help all the desparate and scared people who come here looking to see that they are not alone.
I LOVE this group!

and i always read your posts, glen. they constantly remind me of the true essentials in life and stop my ADD brain getting things all out of proportion...chjones - you are gonna make me teary-eyed!
Thanks SO much! It's always nice to know I've made some difference for some people in life. That's all that truly matters in the end when you think about it.
You WILL overcome the guilt and add-ness! It all takes time.
Don't look at what you've done in the past out of context ok? If events are looked at independent of everything around them it always loses something that's needed to keep it in perspective.
Example: There was this patent clerk in the late 19th/early 20th century in Germany. He wasn't all that successful at it - often rubbed co-workers the wrong way. Failed elementary school math. Treated his wife like crap and ignored his friends and family.
........
Oh, by the way he also invented the General Theory of Relativity as well as many other physics theories (Albert Einstein). See - taken out of context we ALL can feel bad about life's journey - don't ya think?
LOL love that one - works for Stephen Hawkings too - drunk college boy who spent last years of life in wheelchair. I love juxtaposition (sp?). LOL
Take care ch - Love ya too!

The encouragement from friends harvested from this board has been invaluable!
this board helps tremendously. i'm here lots when things are tough, not so much when i'm doing well.
books on this topic are great for getting info., but it's the people and their own stories that provide the most comfort.
my few friends, and my alienated family don't seem to begin to understand what this is, and how discouraging and taxing it is to cope with. to be a hunter in a world of dim-witted farmers is sometimes hell- and frequently, i find them funny as hell! at least when i forget how many of them there are and what a chokehold they have on the world!
if i didn't see myself in so many of your stories i would have to assume i was pretty much alone on this planet.
Board has been very helpful, for all the reasons above. I'm on this damn thing 3-4 times a day! It also helps me to appreciate the often-overlooked good things about ADD - the creativity, intuitiveness, superior intellect :-)Above everything else.. I have learned that I'm not alone. I've also learned that ADDers a a fantastic bunch of people! i love reading the posts and identifying with some of the wierdnesses of the disorder. I've also learned that medication helps a lot. But it doesnt solve all a person's problems... The information gleaned from this board has been invaluable!

I enjoy shareing ideas and reading other peoples advice.
We're all kinda like the Ann Landers of InternetLand.
It helps so much to be able to talk to other people who have the same basic problems and to know that I am not the only one. It helps to be reassured that we are of value in this world and it really helps to be able to encourage someone else, thus making me feel like there is something good coming out of all this pain and confusion.Yes. New Ideas, revisions of old ones, great laughs, good frreinds, no spell chkr.
