Homeopathic Medicine | ADHD Information
I would like to ask if you have looked into getting all the chemicals out of your home and using all natural products.
I use all natural and have heard of some really great product stories and how getting the chemicals out helps with adhd.

I use it on my daughter who has suspected aspergers. It has its ups & downs. We have been trying for a month and a half. First she started with Natrum & now pulsitulla. But when I had to refill the bottle with water (as per the homeopath), she started to go backwards & make me nuts. It's a long road ahead, but if you do not wish to medicate your child it's the way to go. There are also naturaopathic dr.s, and I think they use vitamins. Please check out the alternative meds section on these boards for more information.I think I posted this to another thread, but we did try homeopathic remedies with our son, and it immediately made his symptoms much worse. I know there is some thinking that it gets worse first, but frankly it was too much. I can't remember the remedy now ... started with an S ... but it was the one shown to work in some studies. We didn't have a session with a homeopath, so I don't know if a real, individualized formula would have been different.
Has anyone every tried this type of medicine? Any success or failure?
I have heard that if it is the correct remedy it is suppose to get worse first before it gets better. If you did not meet with a homeopath then how did you get the remedy? Was it Scorpion? What did you end up doing?It is so hard to tell! I feel like I'm studying his every move. He is not harmful or aggressive to his little sister or to us. So, when he is not in school he is onry with us, very hyperactive, but not physical. I guess we will just have to wait until Monday. Just wondering.........Thnx.Tricia, I've tried Ignata as a homeopathic treatment, but if you seriously read up on homeopathics there is no actual medicine in them. They are made from poision-like substances that are too diluted to even be considered as needed to be regulated by the FDA. I was have a cabit full of makny remedies all purchaced because they fit my 8 year old son's picture of symptoms at one time or another. They never changed anything, except that I'm afraid I've turned him into a hypocondriac by constantly asking him how he feels. I've had some recent luck with yoga and he enjoys the movement as well. I'm always welcome to any alternatives to commonly prescribed meds. I'm cautioning everyone to not rely on homeopathics. Please do your homework on this. Homeopthic remedies are too dilute to have any real effects. they are placebo effects at best. Try something physical like yoga, for example if you are like me and want to avoid prescription meds. Our chiropractor has my son on DHEA . I just started him on it, so I can let you know how it works. It is a brain - growth and development enzyme.
Sassie: are you a Melaleuca person. If so were are going to quit products cost to much.I am sorry Brent that you think that. They actually cost less because they last so long. Besides these products are so much healthier and not in a million years would I put chemicals back in my home. I have looked into buying 7th generation and it costs a fortune. I hope that you can change your mind and change your home completley over because you would actually be saving money in the long run. 
We recently started taking Focus for my 6 yo son....it's Herbal and no side effects. Plus, no pills to swallow and no bad taste! ...that was a big plus for my son! We haven't been on long enough to see results.....I will keep you posted on that.We went to see a homeopath Dr. and he gave Dylan a remedy. We were told that if it is the correct one that he may get worse. Great, just what we need. I know that this is our last option we have tried everything else and we will probably have to go to the medication if this fails. He is struggling so much and I can't bare to see him go through this much longer. Just hang in there. Tricia, my daughter has been on 2 remedies in 2 months, it takes a long time, but you will get to that place soon.. Have patience. It doesn't happen overnight. What remedy, if I may ask????He is on Scorpion. He is very aggressive and has been in a few fights at school already. Did you see a Homeopath Dr.? The one we saw gave us a list of things to stay away from smelling and ingesting and they gave us only one dose. This is just so weird to me. Maybe they have a remedy for patience? I'll have to check on that. Did you see anyone who deals with you daughter's sensory issues? Dylan has very sensitive eyes - we have seen the optomotrist and he says nothing is wrong. I did let the homeopath know though.
Yes I have been dealing with a homeopath for 2 months. My daughter does not act out in school though. SHe has suspected aspergers syndrome. SHe only acts out at home & with me. I am starting OT/PT with her in October at the child's development ctr. I don't know about a remedy to "calm" them is that what you mean for patience??? My homeopathy doesn;t believe in "mixing" remedies. Because then if they get worse, you cannot find which remedy it was that was wrong. We do one remedy at a time.............

Go to wal-mart in the vitamin isle...........It's called Nerve tonic. I used it a few weeks back. You only need to take it until you feel better. It's .oo & it helped me out alot!!!!!!!!!! It has a bunch of the remedies in it & my homeopath told me to take it before bed. 1 pill. Try it!!!!!!!!!No, it wasn't Scorpion. I will look for the bottle, I think it's still around here. Straticum or some such. Anyway, we are currently using Ritalin LA, a very low dose of 10 mg, which I am just switching to 20 mg, as he is becoming more and more hyperactive as time passes and seems to need more.
We didn't want to use the Ritalin at first, but let me tell you it has helped our family so much, since our life isn't one constant battle to get my son to hold still, not jump off the bridge, etc. We can actually do things together as a family, which is such a relief!!
