Don't worry wordwoman - those of us here who are regulars know where you're coming from.
Hopefully this being newsweek there will be a non-judgemental article coming out of this. I gave Peg my email address and am hoping to contribute to the positive side of the medications and treatments of ADHD. I think I made the right choice to do so.
And don't worry - if I am chosen to answer questions I'll be sure to fill in a lot of the mistakes and misnomers that come about in the average ADHD article. That is of course if they decide to use whatever I have to give!
I'll keep everyone posted as to what happens next. Wish me luck!

For some reason I prefer the term medication instead of drugs.Hmmm... the rising number of adults taking ADHD drugs?I'm a writer for Newsweek magazine and I'm doing a story about the rising number of adults taking ADHD drugs. I'm looking for people who can share their experiences, on the record, about what it is like to get diagnosed with ADHD later in life and the results of taking medication (if they've tried it.) Ideally, I'd like to talk to people who have been helped by medication and those who haven't had as much success with it.
Because we are a reputable magazine, we need to use your whole name and probably your hometown (or nearest large-ish city) ie. Joe Blow, 45, who lives in a suburb outside Chicago, was diagnosed with ADHD last year.
I'd need to talk to you soon. (deadlines) My phone number is 212-445-4586. My email is Peg.tyre@newsweek.com
Thanks.
