Teacher Info Packets?

I have not heard on anyone doing that...just on apersonal level, I am more inclined to let the teacher come to you as the issues arise....let her make her own observations....any preconceived notions, in my humble opinion, may work to your disadvantage...

But, that is just how I feel.

I think someone here mentioned bringing a packet of information to the teacher at the beginning of the year.  I'd like to do that ... any ideas for what to include?  Does CHADD have teacher info sheets & such?  I will check them out.

If anyone has done this, what did you include?

I did that & it helped immensely! First, I made  paper that told a bit about my dd so they saw her as a person, instead of "another problem". I included her strenghths & weaknesses, what teaching strategies worked in the past & what did not, what goals we had for her (immediate goals like learning her times tables, mastering cursive, etc), and I included the  best times to reach me, my phone #s at home & work & my email address.

I also put in there some informational sheets I printed off the internet about ADHD & my dds LD.

And lastly, I added some of her schoolwork so they could see for themselves how her work looked.

'Every teacher I have given this too has said it helped them understand my daughters problems better & teach her more effectively.

Good luck to you & PM me if I can help you in any way.
