J.T. Welcome to the Boards,
Firstly, from what you mention the meds your on may not be suitable for you in this case. It may be a situation where Doc and you need to Trial on other meds. As our indivivual chemistries are subtley different maybe you just have not found one for you. You do not mention who diagnosed You. As you maybe aware a lot more has been done to educate us all about ADHD. Is it time for a more detailed diagnosis or at least a review of your origional diagnosis? Maybe it is time to look again at meds delivery system. Some meds can now be delivered in more even way and you will avoid the rebound effect.
Good that you posted as everyones experience may provide an answer for someone else.

I think what you need to do is get a referral from your MD to a professional who is expert in adult ADHD - a psychiatrist preferably. There are as mentioned so many ways to go with the meds that it's hard for anyone other than a pro to make the decision.
Dexedrine and adderal work great for a lot of adults with ADHD - me included. It should work day two as well as day one does though. Perhaps the welbutrin mellowed out the adderal? I've never tried my dexedrine with anything else so I can't say.
I'm 6'2" and 220 lbs and had to work up to 30mg dexedrine spansules (sustained release capsule). I think that you should be fine on the dose you're at. Remember too that these meds sometimes need to build up in your body over a while - maybe 2 weeks or more before they work properly. I found after a week straight I got the best results - and am still excellent over 10 months later.
Perhaps take your recommended dose (not more - until you see MD) for at least 1 week. Take it at least thirty minutes before you need the effect (work, school). After a week you should see positive things. If not - ask your MD to get you into a professional as I suggested. Also, talk therapy helps a great deal in learning new ways to cope with things that bother us. It makes a difference believe me!
Good luck to you and keep us posted! Don't give up - almost everyone gets good results once the right mix is found.
