I had taken concerta for a month with no problems. But yesterday i woke up with a small rash on my chest area. Didnt think too much of it because somtime that happens when I change soaps. ( I have a small allergy to perfumed or colored soap.) Made a mental note to check what soap was in the shower, then went about my day. Took Metadate CD 20mg because I had been switched ( insurance bozos wont pay for concerta.) Felt kinda bad that morning with a lot of gas and a little nausea too.
But when the metidate kicked in, Along with the prilosec OtC and mylanta, I felt better. About 12:30 the itching started again really badly. checked my self in the mirror and my entire torso was covered in a rash!
By the time I went to the Dr. at 6:00pm it was on my torso, front and back and spreading down my arms and legs. Dr. said it was an allergic reaction, but not to the medication -- especially since it started before taking my morning dose.
I was given a steroid shot and was told to take benadryl at night and clariten during the day..
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
Can stimulants make a person more sensitive to alergens? Or, can there be withdrawal affects such as this at a dose as low as 32mg? ( that's what I had on the concerta the day before, but personally thought it was a little too much)
I am just trying figure out what would have caused this! I woke up this morning with the rash on my elbows and a small bit on my legs.. now i'm thinking is this gonna start over again today/ sigh....
Any help/ feedback would be greatly appreciated!
