ADD pot effects

I have a genetic disposition of drug abuse.  Today I tried pot and hallicinated and heard voices/ I'm still a little high almost for hour later.  Is that normal?  I don't have hyper ADD

Hi,
In my opinion, based on my experience and the experiences of others, "NORMAL" does not exist when using any mind-altering substance whether is it pot, alcohol, prescription meds, etc. Possibly, because I have ADHD, I must stay away from alcohol and various other substances. It is hard enough for me to focus, concentrate, and, literally, understand the confusion, which most people utter. I want to think as clearly as possibly. I want a higher quality of life. I now know that I have ADHD. This previously hidden menace in my brain has wreaked havoc for longer than I can remember. I have finally seen the face of my most challenging enemy. This knowledge is my ammunition. The substances with which I have previously imbibed were the enemy’s enticements used to confound me. I have decided to be the victor. Knowledge, discipline clarity are a few of my new goals. AGAIN, I BELIEVE THAT NORMALITY DOES NOT EXIST. THE IDEA OF NORMALITY IS ONLY A PREJUDICE SOME USE TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM THEIR FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN AND ITS CONSEQUENTIAL PAIN.

Kristie-

It's normal to be high an hour later. Were you taking any meds at the same time? It is not normal to hallucinate if you just smoked it with out any meds (ingesting it with food can cause a little halucination sometimes, especially if you're not a normal pot smoker)  It's possible it was laced. Be careful.

Don't worry about weed. It is considered of the hallucinigenic class of drugs, and can impact different people in different ways. While I consider myself a libertarian and believe in the decriminilization of drugs, there are quite a few studies that indicate that drug and alcohol abuse can make things worse for those with certain brain wirings! The Swiss found that those who smoked a lot of pot were more likely to develop more serious mental illnesses than ADHD. Methamphetamine induced psychosis is an other problem. You're better off enjoying life without drugs or alcohol. Not worth the risk.  Life is confusing enough without it.  Besides, it's illegal.  Not worth spending time in jail or even your good money on a fine.
Hey Kristie,

I remember different types of marijuana could cause hallucinations. Afgan, g13 or if the buds are sticky and have colored hairs in it. I also agree with Cate, make sure it is not laced. Pot can intensify Adult ADD. God knows it did that to me but that was
long ago. I'd stay away from it and stick with your meds.
