Evaluate Me | ADHD Information

When I was a kid in middle school I had adhd and then for some reason I guess I lost the hyper activity part and the add part got a little better so all through hs and college I used nothing.  Then I graduated and got a job auditing which is boring and a lot of new stuff to learn.  Well I lost that job becaue I kept missing easy stuff and they said I didnt listen well or focus and got fired.  So now I went back to the Doc and am trying add medication and pray to god that something works because I am looking for jobs again and dotn want to get fired again.

I think I might have been able to do better if I would have been told that I needed to focus more but I was never warned.  Maybe I could have controlled it more but who knows.  I also have trouble finishing books that im not interested in or paying attention to what im reading and I always forget peoples names.  But I am never hyper and I have never had a problem with depression.  I am also organized and never forget things.  Is my add that bad or is there a way I can controll it more.  Also which med is best if I dont hae adhd. Thank you for the reply.  But forgettign names is what im known for.  But it never crossed my mind before that I had add so I guess if i would have known i could have tried to focus more.  But I DID LOOSE ME JOB.  Thats what scares me.  I hope if i start a new one I will be able to force myself to focus more.  I think I just hated my job and thats why I could not focus. i can't focus if i don't like something.. many ppl can't..
what you need to do is find yourself a job that you will enjoy!!

Thanks again.  I guess I just have it mildly.  One time in college  a teacher said something about add to me if its concerning you a lot, go and get a full evaluation by a neuropsyche..

they are qualified, i am not
adhd doesn't always come with the 'h' part.. the h part also grows out and you are left with the inattentive part..

read the alternative message board... great ideas..
try omega 3s, a high dosage
dmae
lecithin
magnesium
a good multivitamin
a b complex
ginko
a selection of amino acids

all of these may help.. but it takes time..

its not that bad - it doesn't affect your organisation which is a problem for many adults.. many ppl, even non-adhders, don't remember names and get bored..
try alternative supplements..

good luck too
and then my dumbass doctor give me a prescrip for 25mg straterra when I weigh 200lbs.  Who knows if this stuff will even work when im taking half of what i should be.

My son is on 40mg of Strattera and he wieghs 65 lbs.......I think what your doctor is doing is the equivalent of giving a baby aspirin to someone who just had surgery........

Here's some self assessment and help sites. Helps to use this as cannon fodder when you go to a doctor.
