2. Thanks, kib, I always thought that a frappacaccino was omnimotopea for the sound of passing gas in a romance language... as a matter of fact, I still do...
3. Unknown ADDers often self medicate unkowningly through trial and error, often with coffee, speed, wort, and other non-'scripts, like coke.

You overdid the caffiene if you got to the point of being out of
time and space... I'm usually truckin pretty well on around 4
cups... ( ok that was pre DX -- I have switched to decaf because
of the stimulants already in my system -- of course I still drink
soda... dont know if its enough to hurt my meds or not.. but dont'
think so.)[/QUOTE]

coffee helps me sleep...
When I started working last fall, I started drinking coffee. I had always avoided it in the past because I thought it was bad for me but what I noticed is that it helps me focus and calm down... unless I drink too much. I've found that two cups in the morning (between 9am - noon) and one after lunch does wonders.
Bonne chance! (Vous pouvez parler anglais tres bien.)

Hey kibbles'n'Sherry,
REALLY? Which one!? (No, and I shoulda, b/c yo espaniol hablo...)
But so is puerco, and cochino is reality in a slang term for puerco; s'pose 'pends on where your geographical lexicology was birthed...
...and yes, you are not a pig, nor disguising, and you missed one: nor an "o"...
...and yes, stay away from those disgustingly frappiliar "fraps"... (btw, while in stalled today at McDonald's, I let loose a rather healthy, hefty, and hearty "FFFrrraaaaAAAAPPP!!!!!", and the dude in the next stall gave me a dirty look... so I thinks, but wish I'da said "well, where would you rather I have done that, turned around and aimed?"

Funny - I always thought that Frappacino was the sound that Al makes when he eats too much chili!
Agh ok - guess it's just me.

Prior to my dx of ADD, I was drinking coffee to self medicate and didn't know it!!! At work, I would have a cup of coffee as needed to focus because it made me feel so much more together upstairs and ultimately more productive. On average, I probably comsumed at least 2-4 cups per day for the past 4 years. I started taking Adderall xr about 3 weeks ago, and I haven't had any coffee since! I think thats a really interesting observation.

hi there, i've read this forum for a while and i have questions about coffee:
) and as i was not doing anything apart from partying all day long for the last 2 years, (this includes drinking lot of alcohol, hitting many bongs ...), i expected awaking at 8am would be a pain in the ass so that i had to reconcile myself to drink coffee on morning.
.
Lots of studies have been done on coffee and it's effects. Most of the effects are short-term. Delivering caffeine this way to your system turns out not to be so bad! You can't OD on coffee (you'd be yakking long before you got enough in you). You can become addicted to coffee - but the withdrawl is usually just unpleasant in that you become cranky and can get headaches and feel worn out. Your body responds like you were still taking the coffee and constricts blood vessels in the brain and head, so you can get tension headaches.
They've found coffee to have good effects other than the attention and stimulation. Studies show antioxidant effects, and antibacterial as well. A couple of cups a day can keep us on our toes and is an effective diuretic. Boy is it!
I notice if I take my dexedrine for work then drink 2 cups of coffee at my 2 breaks it helps me attain a higher focus all day. Too much of even a good thing though isn't all that good no matter what it is.
I alternate as well between coffee and black tea, and diet coke (I like the taste sue me!).
If I had to choose between my meds and coffee it would be a hard choice

i STARTED DRINKING COFFEE IN COLLEGE TOO. FOR ALMOST THE SAME REASONS. nOW I DRINK ABOUT 5-6 CUPS A DAY. i FIND THAT i AM MORE ATUNED TO WHATS GOING ON WITH THE CAFFINE. WHEN I DON'T DRINK IT i GET THE USUAL WITHDRAWLS BUT I ALSO FEEL LESS FOCUSED. SO i WILL NOT STOP, BUT BECAUSE i DO DRINK SO MUCH IN THEMORNING i DO NOT DRINK ANY CAFFINATED DRINKS THE REST OF THE DAY.Lately I've been making lots of iced coffee, an really
