Side Effects - Urinary | ADHD Information

Funny - opposite happened to me. Before Adderall I peed about every half hour. As soon as I felt like I had to go, I HAD TO GO. It wasn't UTI's (though I've had plenty of those and it is pure TORTURE) - I just have a small bladder, I think. Anyway, now I'm on Adderall, drinking A LOT more water (due to the constant dry mouth) and I pee once in the morning at work and once in the afternoon. I never have that URGENT need to go and the weirdest thing is that I pee VERY SLOWLY. I have no idea what that's about.katyD:  UTIs are the absolute WORST!!!  Especially if you have never had one & don't know what the Sam Hill is happening to you.  I completely sympathize.  I also keep a gross of Uristat just incase i become plagued by one at work.  Although I used to be the Queen of UTIs, Adderall hans't exascerbated the problem, thankfully.  But I do pee like I'm preggers . . .yes when i first started adderall i had to pee constantly! it eventually went away all i did to help was try not to use the bathroom unless necisarry and i believe that helped the feeling go away. also i noticed the amount of water i drink on that kind of medication is a lot more than normal. very thirsty all the time. About a year ago I became very frustrated thinking I always had a bladder infection but the medicines were not working so they sent me to a urologist (where they said the adderall I was on was not causing the problem) and they diagnosed me with overactive bladder but again the meds did not work.  So I went to my neurologist to switch off adderall (even though originally he also said the adderall was not to blame).  I took a week off of meds completly and had no urinary issues.  Then I started on focalin and all the issues are back.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Is there any medicine that does not cause bladder / urinary issues?  It is miserable to always have to pee!  I am 25 and have been on medicine for over 10 years.  I love how much the meds help but if I can't find one without this side effect I think I am going to accept my add.  Thanks for any help.

Has anyone found a medicine that does not cause them to have this side effect?

Thanks

katyD:  I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but try Private Messaging davidOrnado, johnnyboi or shakespeare or auntie--they seem to know an awful lot about every aspect of these meds.  Buona fortuna, bella! My 10 year old son is on RitalinSR. He has to pee frequently. I had our naturopath test his urine quite awhile ago. She said there was a problem with his adrenal glands and gave us a homeopathic. It reduced his bathroom trips. He isn't currently taking it and hasn't for quite some time. Now he is peeing often again. He doesn't drink exccessive amounts though.
