One homework solution

Because we have struggled with homework since my 12-year-old son was in kindergarten -- and 7th grade was no exception -- his new doc suggested he stay after school in a supervised study hall to get his work done (his school allows kids to stay in the library from dismissal at 2:30 pm to 4 pm).  My son grumbled about it, but we told him today he was staying.  When I picked him this afternoon, I expected a sour face and a bad mood.  Instead, he greeted me with a smile and said, "Mom, this really works!"  He added that he got most of his work done because there was nothing else distracting him.  Success is sweet!
