I know what an MPD type ADD.
MPD is a condition generated in highly truamatic circumstances. PTSD and MPD often are co-morbid. It's possible that ADD symptoms may be misdiagnosed as part of the MPD/PTSD complex. Multiples, or alters, or alternate personalities, or multiple personalitys, found in one mind, are MPD. PTSD is posttraumaticstressdisorder, what husbands go through immediately after their wive's PMS. period.

well it might be good to have a thread dedicated to those who are
sceptical of the ADHD dx (although that obviously seems crazy to all of
us!!!!!) and opposed to the use of ADHD medications and their thoughts
and considerations aswell --- as there isn't really one on here.
perhaps you could contact the administrators and see whether they would
consider adding that as a main topic-type (like the Adult ADHD).
i hope it wouldn't just degenerate into a 'sl*gging off' everyone's
opposing viewpoints though. or just used as a place to hurl insults at us
(we get quite enough of those already, thanks!).
people are so quick to be either holier than thou/or you can't possibly
know because you have never been there....
rather than just read the posts and take what they find relevant and
discard that which they think is biased/plain wrong or not relevant to
their situation/viewpoint -- and with children involved tempers/
defensiveness/frustration/anger levels are likely to be at boiling point.
so perhaps it is not SUCH a good idea. i don't know....
still i guess if it gets too bad they can always just remove it again. but i
think it could be a worthwhile topic -- in the interests of balance and
getting both sides of the story/as much useful info as we can.
but it could be a disaster. ADDers are normally quite open-minded and
tolerant in general about things but i often find that 'normals' really aren't
(although i am biased, naturally) and can be quite vicious, vitriolic,
insulting and unpleasant when they think that people aren't 'listening' to
them.
but nonetheless - why don't you ask? it could be an experiment i
guess.... hmmm though i am really not sure about it, the more i think
about it - the more i think it will just become a forum to be offensive,
angry and unpleasant on. and who needs more of that in this world!

In the late eighties and early nineties, the drug companies started pushing SSRI antidepressants. They were far more beneficial and SAFER with less side effects than the old psych drugs. ... OOPS SORRY, WE LIED.
Around 1995, they started pushing the doctors to prescribe them to children. It took until the FDA hearings on Feb 4, 2004 for the media to understand that the pile of dead children was too high to ignore.
And now the drug companies want you to give your innocent children legalized COCAINE and SPEED !!!..... AND YOU'RE DOING IT !!!!

How long does postpartum depression last? My ex wife went on antidepressants to help with it and now that the baby is 16 yrs old, I was just wondering how much longer the ex will "need" the drugs for her postpartum depression.
I finally got to meet about 60 internet friends at the FDA hearings. They were there to talk about losing their child to antidepressants.
Looks like we've succeeded in slowing down the deaths from those drugs. But the drug companies have turned to a now more profitable market.... ADHD drugs for kids.
So, here I am.

yes, yes, and did cocaine, speed, magic mushrooms.. and a plethora of prescription drugs that i stole from my parents.. all before the age of 18..
