I need help getting my son Diagnosed
Do you need a referral from your ped to see a specialist?
Go see a specialist! With our insurance we don't need a referral for mental health visits(under 8 visits, but that is enough to get evaluated) Our doc tried blowing me off too. You can't take no for an answer.I am a mother of a 4 year old son. My son is getting too much for anyone in our family to handle. We have explained the situation to our Dr. he just says we can't test him till he is 5 years old. I know this is untrue so how do I go over his head to do this? Make the Dr. take my son home with him for a day?? He'd come home medicated in a hour if I did that!! PLEASE Anyone with any advise HELP!!! Try to see a NeuroPscy AND a Child Psychiatarist as you aren't sure if the problem is psychiatric or neurological. See if you can get the referrals. Skip the talk therapists. JMHO.
You can see the specialist on your own just be aware that many insurances do not pay for testing. I don't understand myself 
but that is a battle we went through and lost.
