update on appts this week.... sorry i should've been clearer - not auditory as in hearing but auditory processing as in understanding what he hears - his hearing is fine - especially when he likes what you are saying School did the hearing test and it came back fine - he just had a hard time sitting for it
Like you said, his hearing is fine when he wants to listen. I have one of those too. We had his hearing checked 2-3 times. At first I told the DR that I didn't know if he really had a problem or he was just ignoring me. Both of course. so tues was beh ped - took aus off focalin xr - we just are not happy with the results after the first week. Too many moodswings - dr wants to get the neuropsych eval going and keep an eye out at school to make sure we dont have any probs with them and the hyperactivity. met neuro today - dont like him - he was odd - so now i have to find someone else - you know how sometimes you just aren't comfortable? i am soooo bummed b/c i was really hoping to get started on this process but i just dont feel like he's my guy ya know. Also he recommedned i get the auditory screening done - i thought he could do it???? Does anyone else know if a neuropsych can also do the auditory processing screening? The neuro is covered under my ins - the other is not. J/C... i am having a toug time with all this - I hate to wait for anything and I hate having to do all this insurance research and all of that - I am almost as impatient as my son Sorry I got long felt the need to get this off my chest - load lifted - thanks of course - pretty comon complaint here i think beh pdoc just called me with 3 more names of neuropsych - time to call insurance co again - fingers crossed (i need a smiley for that - i am always crossing my fingers)
