Do you exercise?  I've found that 30-40 minutes of high aerobic type exercise a day really helps with the sleep at night. 

 

Please post any tips you might have on getting to sleep when you aren't tired...

Doc just gave me 20mg Adderall XR and I'm having a pretty bumpy transition from Ritalin, hope these effects settle down while I get "adjusted".  Maybe I should lower my dosage?  I hope this gets better.  Both sleep and eating have felt unnecessary all day even though I got very little of both yesterday.

Last night I got 4 hours sleep.  Woke up at 8 this morning, took my first 20mg Adderall, and now it's 11 pm and it has been an hour since I took some sleeping aid - 3mg of Melatonin.  Still no sleep in sight, and on Ritalin I would have been asleep hours ago. Otherwise, my ADD symptoms seem to be much better on Adderall versus Ritalin.

first off, thanks for all the wonderful responses to my questions throughout this board.  i've been pretty antsy since going on Addxr.

Yes, I do exercise.  Although yesterday I only weight lifted in the afternoon and skipped my evening cardio routine (a 2.5 mile jog).  That could be why I was so hyper last night.  Anyways, I managed to get to sleep not more than an hour after I wrote that last night.

Tonight I may skip the Melatonin although it is supposed to have no harmful side effects.
