Alternative Treatment | ADHD Information

Hi! I had some success with st. johns wort. It takes most people a few weeks to a month for any results, but i noticed a difference after a few days. The only problem is i have i guess what would be called a high tolorance to almost ALL things, natural and chemical. It worked for a few weeks and than i became ammune to it But a neighbor that i was friends with for 3 yrs. had great results with St johns wort. I haden't been diagnoised w/ADD yet, and i think the only reasons we hit it off so well is from remembering her personality, she was probably ADD or ADHD also. I'm  47 and was just diagonised 1 yr. ago.

Can't hurt to try st. johns, or if your not comfortable trying it, read the side effects. I finally had to go to Adderall 20mg 3 times a day. If used correctly, and you have no  physical problems, you might want to give it a try. I don't mean to sound negitive, but adderall seems to be the drug of choice, according to my theripist.

Good luck what ever you try and who knows, maybe you'll have success "naturally"! And sorry, i should have said this first. WELCOME! You'll find a lot of wonderful friends who are going through the same things.

Hello

I am a 36 year old male and have been living with ADHD for many years.  I have been reading about all the side effects of the popular medical treatments and am not sure it would be worth it to medicate myself.

Is there anyone out there that has had any luck with any of the natural or herbal out there.  Are there any books that discuss alternative treatments that have been helpful to anyone.  What can I do to help my condition without taking medication?

Thanks
