Do you celebrate your bday alone? | ADHD Information

Ok Davey - we all know you celebrate your body alone! And there's nothing wrong with that - but could you close your drapes?!?

Seriously though - I don't celebrate my bday.  I can't see a good reason for it - other than a sigh of relief that I made it another 12 months without seriously maiming either me or someone else!  But I am not so cynical as I was last bday and now it's just nothing of interest for me.

It's more or less a moot point these days since breaking off on my own 2 years ago.  I get a phone call from mommy and that's it!  I work it - and am glad I'd rather have the check than a piece of cake.  I don't like cake much.

OMG!...I read the title today and it said "do you celebrate your body alone?" My answer (and I'm lying here):

With plenty of people to make me feel loved

I celebrated my last birthday with my class!!! HAHA! I teach a special ed class and we celebrate everyone's birthdays, including mine. On the first day of class, the kids who don't have birthdays during the school year got to pick unbirthdays out of a bag. The more parties the merrier!

Ha! Did You Say "Birthday" OMG!... Hey!!! Repairman, Give us a Song and I'll Get This Round... John!!! Waken up Lad and pull the Pints... Hey Miss Frizzle!! Welcome.

Cheers... Come on Guys, Sing Up for Geess sake.. or Yer Man will Chuck us Out... Birthdays are like Gold Medals for Us..

i'm not wild about any holidays really.

b-days i try to pretend don't exist, and choose to play them down, or hide.

i spend much time in my head, so maybe it feels wrong to be center of attention.

last year tho, got talked into hiking a 14'er w/ some close friends that knew. i wasn't feeling well, and was last, and behind as usual. there was a crew of college kids working on the trail up the mtn. my friends() ratted me out.

as i came around the backside of the mtn, for 300' above me, on a pristine alpine mtnside in the middle of nowhere, were 20 people singing 'happy b-day' to me, their voices echoing across the valley  2000' below.

i was- shocked, stunned, touched, embarrassed, mad, exposed, ambushed, all at once.

it was beautiful and a little terrifying. i liked it and hated it.

i did handle it better than my 16th b-day. my mum invited lots of family to give me a surprise party.

i don't know who was more surprised-me, or them as i stormed out, furious over being put on the spot. i came back 18 hrs. later, still pissed, and gave my mum an earful of my peculiar brand of scathing vitriol.

my poor mum. what a jerk she gave birth to.

CC, i hope you enjoy your b-day as much as i've hated most of mine. if you do, you'll have the best time.

here's to hoping someday i'll embrace life, instead of what i usually do.

Just wanted to know if the limited friendship that we as ADHDers have also makes for a lonely Bday.....Happy Birthyday, CreativeCrazy! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday...!

As a side note...I have many friends.  I usually spend my BDAY with friends and family.

Is it true that ADDers have less friends?  I don't fall in to that catagory.
