weird feeling on meds | ADHD Information

I'm on adderal.. adderal xr on mondays and wednesdays and a regular pill
for tues and thurs, and i take nothing fri-sun.. its really weird though,
when im on adderal xr i suddenly get really ambitions about the future..
like today im on adderal xr and i really want to have this big belt business
in the future so i looked at business stuff online and am frantically
reading this economics book on running businesses and im emailing
peoploe about selling the belts in different places yadda yadda yadda..
and obviously i cant boom! accomplish all this stuff for making a big
business at this instant so now im all frustrated and agitated and trying to
do all this stuff at once.. meanwhile i have more pertinent stuff to attend
to like an essay due tomorrow that i havent started, but i cant stop
thinking about this wild future goal and its soooo frustrating!! does this
happen to anyone else??

storm, just the way you are writing - one big long sentence - seems like you are too "up" to me. You may want to speak with your dr about your dosage and when you take it, etc.

Storm, I am the same way on Adderall XR. Now, just make all that stuff
happen! Use your ADD to your advantage! The Adderall will help you
organize thoughts and keep you focused on your goal. My first 2 weeks on Adderall XR was pretty sweet. About 45 minutes after I took it I felt like I was buzzing outta my gourd, however, I was still in total control. After about a month, that effect slowly disappeared and now I just feel completely focused.

And YES, you MUST take Adderall with food or you may really go nutty.
Having non-medicated days might make it hard for your body to adjust. But you might want to try a different drug if Adderall makes you feel too buzzy. I found the regular (non-XR) Adderall to be the speediest of them all. There were times when I liked the feeling, but it was not the best for steady productivity. Wordwoman38644.9048263889 How long have you been on Adderall for? It may take your body time to adjust to the meds either that or your doseage is too high. For example, I started on 27mg of Concerta and within 30-45 days I told the Doc it wasn't lasting long enough to get me through work anymore, so he raised it to 54mg, but 54 mgs was perfect because the only difference I noticed was it did what it was supposed to do in the time I was told it would do. The best thing to do is just consult with your doc.

Only my opinion, but Adderall is, for me, what I would imagine crack would be like. Can't say for sure, my point is, Adderall just made me feel sorta high. To be more specific - not clear on reality - overly positive.

Concerta works really well for me. I know for they patented the release system & it is way smoother than the time release Adderall, too. Maybe you should ask your doc.

All these meds are psychoactive, but they're supposed to improve your functioning, not knock you into optimism overdrive. Take it with food, maybe that would even it out? Good luck

Storm - it sure sounds like you're just experiencing the initial body adjustment to the dexedrine. It's gonna be OK!

I was very overwhelmed with the feeling the first week on dexedrine spansules. It was like a frankenstein movie - where I was the dead monster. Then - the voltage hit my neck bolts and WOW! I was thinking things I'd never thought - seeing the world so clearly it was very overwhelming at first. It only lasts the first while - then it settles in with clarity, centering and focus. Very nice indeed!

I am on generic adderall. I feel like I am constantly coming down from it.
I probably get 1-2 hrs of progress. Not AMPED up, but even progress, then I get exasperated and agitated and tired.... Have your doc/psych prescribe Adderall XR. There is no generic for it so you get the real thing. Generics are crap and are unreliable. XR is a billion times better then any generic.
