QUESTION concering MEDSHi and welcome. As many people on this board already know I was on Strattera for a little while. It was okay but the side effects were really bad. Medication is not a cure, I think even with meds you'll still have some ADHD symptoms. That's not very encouraging but I believe it to be true. Hyperactivity, I believe, it harder to control than inattention. On Strattera I was still hyperactive, that drove me nuts! Are you on the stimulants (Ritalin, Adderall)? I was on ritalin for a little while when I was young. It kept me up all night. It wasn't fun. Hope this helps. Cheekydeeky Hey y'all I am new to this board and I just wanted to ask anyway if they have the same problems as me. I am 21 be diagnosed with ADHD since I was 18. Went through highschool thinking I was just stupid. Now I take medication and I am in college. I do good (better then when I was in highschool!!!) Atleast when I study now I remeber things. Anyways I was just wondering if anyone takes medication and if they do does it work better some days then others? I mean like one day you will be able to concentrate great and other days not as much? If so do you know why? or what affects it? Some days I feel like I can do my homework. Sometimes I sit for 9 hours reading, which is great for ADHD people, but other times I will try and read and its like I am not retaining anything!!! If anyone has some insight let me know-any information would be great!! and apperciated!! Hello hope123hop, I am also 21 and I just got diagnosed with add about a month ago. I've had my doubts that I was ADD since I was 10 years old, but I never said anything about it to anyone until it got so bad that I just couldn't take it anymore. I felt like I was out of control. Anyway I got prescribed Strattera and have been on it for about a month now. I haven't experienced any of the serious side effects that others talk about other than nausea right after I take the pill, but that only lasts about 5 or 10 minutes. Other than that it has helped me tremendously, to the point where the people around me notice a difference. I used to be the biggest procastinator ever in my circles, but its completely turned it around for me. As long as I take my dose at the same time everyday it never wears off for me. I hope it stays that way because it has really changed my life. < =text/> > |
