Well..my 2+3/4 yr old daughter started on Focalin(2.5 mgs twice daily) this past wed. and other than that first day where she had 2 rage episodes about 2 hrs after the meds all seems to be going well,she does have a little trouble with staying asleep at night..but she seems to be better at listening to us when we talk to her,and so far(knock on wood)no more rages since the first day.
Her psycologist did a very thurough exam and told me since there was no actual test for kids under the age of 5-6 this would be trial & error he also told me if she got worse then we were right in the diagnoses of ADHD & Bi-Polar(both on both sides of the family)..but if she "zombied out" then we would have to re-evaluate cause we we're going down the wrong road..I called her dr about her rage & sleeping probs since the exam & he told me to keep a daily log,and call him again on monday for any changes to her meds.
She's still hyper..so there's not much of a change in that area..but the temper has dropped a little & she plays alot better as far as me not having to be right beside her...I'll keep you posted.
