ADHD Enterprises | ADHD Information
Chocolate that looks like doo-doo. Kids (boys age 11,
specifically) would really love it -- I'm serious. Now *that* is
a business idea, y'all.

congrats cj!!
In typical ADHD fashion, we've abandoned, or rather procrastinated then forgotten about our reality show -- so I thought well maybe we can come up with something else to get excited about and then forget? Sure makes the forums more fun!
How about all of us getting together and starting our own business? I mean c'mon, aren't the traits of ADD able to hyperfocus, creativity, etc, all the good stuff like that? What would happen if we got 40 ADD'ers together and started our own business? I imagine nothing would get filed, business expenses wouldnt get paid, mail wouldn't go out, but we could hire NoAdds for the little stuff . . . What's everyone think? Any ideas for a business model? Who wants to do/be what??
do an 'apprentice' version...
6 adhders vs 6 pedestrians
Hey,
I'm serious. I just closed a deal that'll return 75k for one client. I
get 2 of those a month, I won't know what to do. Auntie's encouraging
me to sell my art, and I've had several inquiries already. Barb want's
me to write, and I did have an ADHD Enterprise where I had 28
employees, 3 stores, and 5 managers to keep up with me. Problem was, 5
of them were ADHD...
I'm game. Count me in.
Is sombody in love? Nevermind.. I keep hearing L.A.. I'm 98% sure I'm moving there in May or June. I'm gonna need some new friends to hang out with..in person.
I'm very creative and a great braintormenter
, I mean brainstormer. I totally agree that a group of us ADHDers could have a very successful buisness, just need a few normals to keep us organized and on track.
Isn't there ADHD "Coaches"? I heard something about that a few years ago. We could hire one. There suposed to do just that; help you organise and stay on track.

I've thought about this a bit, and the more I consider it, the more convinced I am that an ADHD (read, "Edison Gene" or "DaVinci") group could absolutely change and break open any area of art or industry that it went into.
An ADHD group - a DaVinci group - could unseat Microsoft.
It could start a music company that would redefine genres.
It would create many, many happy and productive careers.
It would create many, many happy families.
Now all we need is an ADHD billionaire willing to start it ...
No worries, 'mate!
uh, can you wait a couple months?
Sure! I've waited a good many years - a couple of months won't hurt!
Great, thanks Davie, now we have our business model and billionaire all in one!
yes, i leave on the 15th.

i forget what i left and i never went to pick it up,

a scarf? or what?
Ahhh, we'll miss you.... until you get back online! Going back to
England? If I remember correctly, it was in Beach City, that great
little 'stro that had the Guaro. And yes, it was your scarf. Wanna go
look for it? I should come say goodbye. Any one to take you to the
airport? I need sand in my toes.
And a sunset in my eyes...

So let's all get together and think of something we can do! I personally have no talent or skills. My husband, though, a NoADD (we need those!) has many skills he can add to the talent pool -- he won't do any of it on his own because of his panic disorder/agoraphobia. He could be rich if he'd leave the house.
Anyway, he's wanting to do what DoctorQ and I were talking about -- designing websites/domains especially for those that can't afford big, flashy, customized pages -- such as churches, not for profit agencies, schools, etc.
Also, he's a damn good poet. Check him out here on his website:
http://protempore.org poet JARDAY -- Davey, you and he can combine your talents!! :P
In his webdesign business, I'm pretty good at looking at what people want and his websites and telling him what its lacking aesthetically and functionally. Other than that I'm only good at teaching my son seasonal greetings. His current one is Mayowissness. Guess what that is! Is there a market for teaching toddlers to say cute things?
HeidiMarie38659.5972453704I drive through LA on my way to Yuma. Does that count?
I want to dress well . . . and get paid handsomely. But I will need someone
to dress me, cause my fashion taste is into what is handy. As for the money
. . . well, lol, as long as I can eat, drive, and pretend to sleep. I do not care
for nor of money. I work and strive, for stimulation. Pay me in thought, let
me design and set up your production line, then I am out of here. On to the
next 'start up' venture.
I guess I like this idea . . . but now I have another one. And another . . . .
i wanted to organize a volunteer group in my area. we would all do charity and donation drives, then on christmas deliver it to a few of the orphanages around here. the only thing i did was spend a whole day brainstorming. then it became too hard for me i guess. i'm sad.
so now i want to start a tutoring service around my part of town. can anyone help me? i see it all happening successfully in my head..and then thats about it. hm..should i go to the schools and hang flyers up? do i really have to go all the way over there? cant i just email them a flyer?
i need a 'normal' as my slave...MOOhahaha (evil laughter)
Sounds like something my husband does with web sites.
I don't think the ADDers need to be the ones running an enterprise. On the contrary, I think that they'd be a disaster if they tried to do it alone.
However, it is well-noted that many of the most famous ADDers in history were enterpreneurs. I think it's a matter of getting plenty of non-ADD help. Let those who are good at such things "run things" - all that is really needed is an environment that is not hostile to ADDers, where a group of them could do their thing their way and have their contributions optimized.
I hope this isn't an impossible dream. If it is, we may as well give up. This entire speculation is just a way of stating the status quo and what needs to change ...
well, as it happens i have decided to start my own business. so anybody who cares to can join in.
i am going to open an art gallery. here in Los Angeles. i
was talking to a designer yesterday and she has a rentable space and i
have the artistic contacts in the UK. i know plenty of fantastic
up and coming artists and i am going to introduce them into America....
how's that for a plan. oh but BIG obstacle - visa! bureaucracy. all that sh*te.
ah there's another good idea down the pans.
oho but here an alternative is already popping into my mind.... all thought and no action, the story of my life!
how fast can we come up with and then dismiss plans... my estimate is about 30 times a minute. approx.
anyways. gotta go......... gotta get on with things! see ya. cj
Jonesie, that sounds great! :)
i also have another great idea for putting on a theatre production of
the poem of Venus and Adonis by Shakespeare and that should be a piece
of piss out here, you can't throw a brick in the street, without
hitting three actors.
so am going to write the stage-play, i recently met a great
choreographer so if he cares to deign to bother he might consider
choreographing it and then heidimarie here, she can do set-design, cos
i hate that sh*te... and so on.
i'll let you know when the stage-play is done. plus i just met
(well a month or so ago - the manager for the theatre at UCLA, so there
is a space to put it on too).
hooray. ok next idea...
oh yes
(nah, really gotta go now)
i am but full of ideas heidi-marie. ideas aren't the problem here.....
Jonesie you are full of great ideas :) If you're ever opening a pub with poetry readers or something, let me know, my husband can be your resident poet :P
I'm doing a software thing. But I know I can't do it alone.I'd do set design but it could be the downfall of your career in the arts :)
I'm doing a software thing. But I know I can't do it alone.
What kind of software thing?
Low-cost hosted applications for small businesses, charitable organizations, churches/benevolent groups, and low-end healthcare organizations. Everything on the internet, everything very affordable, for those who perform important functions and need information processing resources, but who do not have big-business budgets.
Several known and diagnosed ADD/(HD)ers trying to run a company together.
I could be wrong, but I just see a never ending nightmare of mass confusion. I have a difficult time dealing with myself. My wife has as hard a time with me as well. But several of us trying to see eye to eye together every day as well as to satisfy a customer base and keep them not only happy with our service or product????? but also keeping said client base confident of their investment in us??????
Sorry, I just dont see it. But if one of you wants to try and pull it off, please let me know. I'll pop some corn and watch!
ZORG38658.4887152778If that's the reality, ZORG, it doesn't speak well for the ADHD adult's ultimate chances of success, for the enterprise being proposed essentially addresses the general dilemma of the ADHD adult represented in microcosm ...
I think the point here is not to form an enterprise that was composed solely of ADDs, but one in which the talents of the ADDs were not only respected but leveraged. Of course there would be a need for normaloids willing to do the work not compatible with ADD temperament or rhythms.
The point is, a harmony and balance of this sort could be extraordinarily progressive and productive ...
Sorry just MHO... But I see a tug-O-war. Not with several people evenly placed on the two ends of the rope, but rather with several people each pulling the rope in their own direction from whatever part of the rope they chose to stand at.
I've thought about this a bit, and the more I consider it, the more convinced I am that an ADHD (read, "Edison Gene" or "DaVinci") group could absolutely change and break open any area of art or industry that it went into.
How about all of us getting together and starting our own business?
Sorry, I fear we would all end up killing each other.
I've often thought we should have our own business. Who else would understand us better than another ADDer? Each ADDer would have a non-ADD assistant to take notes, file stuff, do expense reports, etc. It could work!
