Has anyone heard of The DaVinci Method? | ADHD Information

Share
So what does the DaVinci method tell us that we don't already know from reading other books? And has anyone tried to exercise the 30-day money back guarantee? They seem to ask an awful lot of personal info before you can download the e-books...

Thanks!

Maybe I should try The Davidornado Method...

hmmmmmm, I would love to try it out, but in reality, I would spend the money, look at it and think 'no way am I going to be able to read that'

it would honestly stay on my shelf collecting dust while I try to get it on book tape!

books on ADHD. STUPID!!!

I'm reading it now. It's very inspiring and teaches you to embrace your strengths and become the great person that you are meant to be.

Most of us realize that we are creative and talented, and it's great to have books supporting that.  It sounds like he's encouraging people with adhd to rebel against the constraints of a society that doesn't fit us- and hey, I'm all for that, but the fact remains that we still have to live in/ deal with this society.  Even if we can become successful entrepreneurs we still have to do things like pay our bills on time- does he offer any helpful advise for people for stuff like that?

David- does it cost anything and will I be able to remember do it?

Please excuse my lack of knowledge. Was Leonardo Davinci liked-minded as we are? This sounds like interesting reading. :) [QUOTE=jaderock54]

I'd calculate the cost for you if I could remember what it was...

Yes, I have. And I pretty much agree with the premises he proposes. However, his treatise was too wordy, so I only spedread the article. He's pretty proud of his 'elf, considering how much money he wants out of us. But, he's right on as far as I can tell. I've been tootin' that horn since a/b 2 years into my diagnosis. Check it out, if you can read a lot, and let us know what you think.
I do not myself have ADHD, but my husband and 5 year old son would be considered ADHD.  A week ago I heard a radio interview with the author of a new book called The DaVinci Method.  I bought the book online and it is AMAZING!  It has transformed the way I think about my son and husband....they are not "ADHD", they are DaVincis......they have a gift that our society has turned into a "disorder."  Labeling people with ADHD is a way of shaming and disrespecting.  My husband is really enjoying the book and it has been helpful for me in terms of understanding my son and helping him.  Just wanted to share...this has been a refreshing and hopeful new perspective for me.  I hope it becomes more commonplace.
yup - i go pretty much with that theory.

but i sure as sh*te need some better coping mechanisms because it can sometimes seem that my ADD is verging more toward the hindrance than the gift....  not that i want to complain, i just need a little more guidance on how to use my gift rather than waste it and feel the guilt of that plus the nasty material situations it puts you into and you end up just killing time, or yourself or something....

those that can harness it - can work wonders with it.  that's for sure.

I have heard of it but haven't read it. I must say I totally agaree with what I have heard his opinions are.

Guantanamo?! it's free of charge??
And on a bay as well!
I'll float there on my lux'ry barge
get away from the city smell.
miss frizzle you are beginning to sound dangerously like a communist or something else terribly bad, is there anything worse???  mass-murderer, nah that's way better.

if you don't work --- how can the rich make money off you?

and what gives you the right to damage the wealthy's standard of living.  who do you think you are?

this kind of talk is SEDITIOUS.  and must be stopped at all costs.  before you start influencing innocent, young minds with ideas of freedom.

please note that the CIA is now fully aware of your treacherous, non-conformist thought patterns and repeated exposure of these toxic views will end up with a little holiday for you to Guantanamo, entirely free of charge, see how generous we are --- many people love it so much that they stay there for years.  you see, the weather is so good they just can't bring themselves to leave no matter how much their families beg for their return.

oops - what was that.  did i take my foot out just to re-insert the other.  ahh never mind it's all good fun.

not work!  hah!  i spit on your communist/aboriginal fantasies.  now slave, back to the grindstone or i kill you now.  or perhaps i will kill you anyway, we can't have your sort about here ya know.

now, please don't take offence missyfrissy cos i know you already are worried that nobody likes you.  but i do.

and bren i don't think if it's outside the norm they dislike it, i think they 'fear' it.

but my favourite phrase comes back to me again 'those who would choose security over freedom - deserve neither'  benjamin franklin.

and another great one from abraham lincoln i was told this morning.  "i destroyed my enemies by making them my friends"

well, that was roughly the gist of the quote although i might not have got it word for word.

What's right for one isn't right for all. Find what will work for that person and keep doing if it's sucessful. I heard of it...but what is the theory exactly?

I think it's kind of a twisted irony to make a super-long/wordy book about AD(H)D... lol, I struggle reading a chapter in my textbooks WITH adderall. People like normacey and if its outside the norm they dislike it for the most part. I say cause it's not what they are use to seeing or dealing with.In my perfect world, I'd only work one day a week.

Gettin' close!

What do you work as now?

Here's a link to an explanatorium:

Has anybody heard of

the method of the aboriginese?

part of the year you collect some food,

the rest of the year you do as you please?

If there's no need to work

you can never be lazy

If we were aboriginese ,

half the year we wouldn't be crazy!

In The DaVinci Method it says DaVinci types (ADHDers) tend to work in bursts according to their passions, so that could be one day a week or three days a week but it doesn't matter because if you're working your passion it doesn't feel like work.

Some weeks my husband seems like he is working 24/7 on some "important" project and other weeks it doesn't seem like he is working AT ALL!  :)   [QUOTE=Miss Frizzle][QUOTE=Davidornado] In my perfect world, I'd only work one day a week.

An ADHDer.

I have looked into the DaVinci book, and even though it's more inspiration than substance, the substance that it does have is good, and the inspiration is in-your-face uplifting and encouraging.

This is definitely worth a look.
