Sorry to hear that Cheeky. That's the problem with working, you never know what type of people you will end up working with. You have to deal with all sorts of issues and you never know what "baggage" someone brings with them to work every day.
I think you have recieved some really good advice here. I can't really add anything. But I do agree that an informal talk with your boss may be in order, just to put your own mind at ease.
Thanks guys. I actually didn't let that guy get away with that statement but his comment turned into a heated argument between the two of us. The problem is, he's the boss' stooge. They're attached at the hip and he now complains to the boss about me every chance he gets. The boss tell me I'm doing fine. (??) Go figure.
I try to do my best. I get very anxious when I catch myself making mistakes because I fear they'll catch up to me and prove that guy right.
Some days I hate having ADHD.
I started a new job today. It's another phone job, but a my last job i not only had a co-worker tell me how "f'ing terrible i sounded, but had the nerve to tell a supervisor to listion to how i sounded. He convinced me that i would be fired and he would make sure of that. I though this "co-worker" was someone really important b/c i had only seen him once. I'll admit after almost 3 yrs. at that job i diden't sound real upbeat. He followed through, i was listioned to.
Turnes out the joke was on him! He was a new employee, and was fired that night! My only offence was i had a cold and sounded kinda nasal. My boss appoligized to me. So i guess some people are just jerks!
Next time you see your co-worker tell him/her:
"You know, yesterday I was thinking about what you said. It really started to bother me that the boss hired someone unqualified like me. I was thinking that the boss must be totally incompetent. Just then the boss came by and asked me what was wrong. I told him that I had been talking to you and that you said he did not know what he was doing and that he was incompetent. He told me to cheer up and pay no attention to you. He said that he would probably talk to you about it next week.
Your co-worker may not think you dserve your job, but she/he should be thankful that people don't always get what they deserve!
HANG IN THERE! You got the job. It is yours. Do your best, and enjoy it!
Sorry to hear that... had a crap-ola day this eveing at work. Today was "critizize the EMT day" I felt like I was going to cry at leat every hour. I was so mad I wanted to scream,
I couldn't do anything right for those stupid crabby nurses!!!
I think the key is to remember that our co-workers are NOT the ones that hired us. People in higher up positions felt that we were capeable of doing a better job than all the other applicants! I'd tell that person that said that you shouldn't be working there: "thank goodness you don't make the decisions around here". Maybe schedule a meeting with the boss and get some feedback on your performance? Bosses love to hear that their employees want to do better and are motivated enough to get some pointers from the head cheese. Whenever I feel crappy at work and my co-workers are starting to make me doubt my abilitities I meet with the manager and she lets me know if there's anything I could be improving on. Then I know if I need to change anything or if my co-workers are just full of s***. It's often the latter. Happy Monday... don't let 'em get you down!
YOU ARE AWESOME AND WONDERFUL AND
ROCK
AT YOUR JOB!!!!!!!!!
Because I said so.
lizzy38187.1097685185Tell that co-worker to look at him/herself in the mirror.
My experience is that if a co-worker goes out of their way to say something like that to you, then it probably means that they are insecure in their own abilities and feel the need to make themselves feel better by putting others down. Classic bullying technique. Probably the same person that used to take my lunch money in grade school.
If it were me, I would check with my supervisor. Ask him/her How you are doing at your job. What am I doing well? Where can I make improvements? You really have nothing to lose by doing this and a good manager will appreciate the fact that you give a damn.
As for the co-worker, I would probably give him/her advice where they can stick their feedback. But I am somewhat of a hothead. It's probably a better idea to take the high road and just say something sly like "Good morning to you too!" & amp; nbsp;
I can tell you for sure that you are better off listening to your boss' hypothesis rather than some jerkoff co-worker who is probably jealous of you, and doesn't know any other way to express it.
Just my take

Ugh, tomorrow it's back to work, back to the job I thought for sure I'd be fired from and for some reason I'm still there. Back to where a co-worker told me I don't deserve this job and should be fired. I've tried to do better and I want to think that I am but I have my doubts. I'm unmedicated and it sucks. I don't know if it's me, the job or ADHD or a little of all three.
Truly Mondays in hell.
Maybe I'm just lonely. Thanks for letting me vent.
