Are Parents and Doctors Crazy?.. Or am I? | ADHD Information

so you know how to edit and are a newbie and 15 and posting so late. you mispell straterra and correctly spell concerta and ritalin and metadate and adderall.  You spell psychiatrist right, talk of sexual side effects and are still 15. This is so obvious it is sad.

 TROLL POSTING
What is your problem bugs?  I come here to find some genuine help and you bitch at me?  I didn't even do anything to provoke you!  "I regret I only have one life to give for the research of ADHD" is what is says right?  Well why don't you help me?  I need to know because from what i am hearing that large spike is abnormal, so unless you intend on being constructive please don't post. I was constructive to you in my first post, which you neglect to mention. So it further proves your disdain since having been found out.  You don't have to go back and read it, because you read it before, so you choose to focus on me calling you out, since that post gives you no action to reply to.

others have posted to you as well, yet you neglect them and focus on me.
bugzappers38658.854849537Whatever, I am tired of this, if you have something constructive to say please say it and i f anyone else does please. no your not, otherwise you wouldn't post a statement like that.

Go back to deathwarning, I like that id better.
bugzappers38658.8573842593What is everyone talking about a phoney?  Am I missing something?  Oh bugzappers if you won't help then please don't post. Doesn't matter, reported. probably by more than I.

we are tired of the lies and deceit. We get a forum to be open and talk freely, and you still lie and try to ruin our only outlet after decades of submission to conform to YOU.  Well sorry, not this american WITH ADHD.

 Ace,

Do some homework on Concerta. Then have a talk with your mom about it. Ask your mother what she was like at 15 and her relationship with HER mother at that time. (It'll get her thinking)

I'll tell you what I told my daughters when they hit 15....  What is the utmost important thing to you TODAY, will be totally insignificant to you in less than 3 months.  The best thing about being 15 is... THIS TOO SHALL PASS.

Lies.

Yeah my mom thinks that i act up (which i do but not bad enough to deserve this) I can definintly feel it, it does slow me down and help me concentrate but it feels really weird.  Oh and i do voice my opinion but i "i will understand when i get older" so i don't know what to do.  But i am starting the 54 concerta tomorrow.  Just out of curiousity what is the OD limit on drugs like this?  Thanks for your help people.

And i am a he, for one.  And its not my pediatrician that is changing it it is my (nurse) mom and my psychiatrist ( who also happens to be adhd ). They tried to put me on stritara but after the sexual sideeffects and being banned in other countries for liver stuff, i told them i don't think so.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

bugz,

Is it normal to have your dosage nearly TRIPLE in less than a year ?

I think she has genuine concerns.

What makes people think increasing concentration fixes  kids this is false. They just learn in different ways than others. This therefore means they need different materials to be sucessful. I think the post is as phony as you. reported.. bren and reality are the same ...
I will be posting this in the teens board too.  I am 15 (sophmore) and i have been taking various adhd meds for over 8 years.  Welbutrin, adderall, metadate, and now concerta.  In the last yeah i have gone from 15mg of adderall xr to 20 then 30 now 40 and now i am being prescribed 54 mg concerta.  Is this normal? This much difference this quickly?  Any help is appreciated. I just want your opinion.
Did you feel the meds you were on  helping you at all?  It is your body and I would discuss your concerns with your doctor.   It could be maybe age, weight why or by what you are reporting on your visits.  I am not an expert just trying to help.  Talk to the doctor.

It appears that the doctor and your parents have forgotten being 15 years old. Sounds like you're acting up a little too much for your mother and she figures you need more drugs to slow you down.

Ask your grandmother if you're being treated right.

Is there any way that you can "just say no"  to the increase ?

Check out www.ritalindeath.com and show it to your mother.

Over the course of 8 yrs, and a sudden switch. This is to find what works for you, not a game.  What problems are you having with the medications you were on before?

bugzappers38658.8540856481aceofspades, at 15 you're probably smart enough to know how the meds are effecting you and able to discuss it openly with your parents and your doctor (possibly seperately).

here you'll just hear mixed messages. Your doctor believes he knows whats best for you meds wise, your mother feels she knows best as far as your health goes. You're 15, time to step up and add your voice :)

With blinding ignorance Ms. Reality doth mislead us. O!Wretched mortals, open your eyes!
Morpheus38658.7524421296auntie, I will listen to you on brent.

chjones, it is all a front from me.

this kid is not for real.
Yes on the bad handwriting no on sitting things and thank you chjones.  Well i went through my first day of concerta and i like it better than the adderall, it doesn't have that "can't close eyes" slow down time thing, but it does help me concentrate, even though it is only first day and it is double the amount of meds i was taking bout a month ago, it seems to be doing good.  But keep on with the responses please.

bugzappers,

Bren (Brent)  should not be reported.  He isn't a Troll.  Brent has been on this board for a long time. (He has had trouble in the past logging in therefore it looks as if he hasn't been here long)  He doesn't cause trouble - just a bit of frustration here and there and has a difficulty saying what he wants to say. Please don't hold that against him.

bugz it doesn't really matter, does it?

they have a concern...  then we'll answer it as best we can.

i don't get WHY you are so aggressive.  i mean you post what you want of course... that's fine, but the level of defensiveness is for what - it makes no sense?

an alternative point of view means what to you --- do you not think that it is better to give varying points of view and then let the poster make up their own mind about it???

they can look and say well, this person obviously feels strongly against meds, so i'll bear that in mind and this other one strongly pro-meds, so i'll keep that in mind and decide for myself.....

putting your fingers in your ears and going LALALALALALALALALAALA nobody can hear you because i am shouting - seems ridiculous.  if you think reality's posts are off-base or inaccurate then say why in response but just shouting someone down because you don't want to hear their point of view --- how is that different from all the people who would never hear us when we tried to explain that it wasn't laziness etc.

is it not better to listen and say well, this is why i think you are wrong here.

rather than using aggression and intolerance as some form of argument...???

Do you have a hard time sitting in a chair with your arms and legs bent at the same time?

Do you have bad handwriting?

Can you sit comfortably when your arms or legs are straight?

There is a reflex that we all have when we are babies.  If it doesn't get matured, you can be controlled by it.  It can give you symptoms of ADD or ADHD.

I was dx ADD and meds helped me a lot.  Then they seemed to wear off.

I read this book that told me all about this reflex.  the reflex is the STNR.  It was still controlling me.  I know that when I was a baby, I never crawled because I had casts on my legs for pigeon toes.  I went from pulling myself across the floor, to walking when my casts came off.

When I read this book Stopping ADHD, all of the symptoms are ones that I had.  Many of them are ADD symptoms also.

I have done the exercises for only a little while and I have seem improvements already.  I can't explain how it is helping.  I don't know how it can help with my memory, but it has been amazing.  I remember things all the time now.  I don't space thing off anymore.

I believe that many other people out there can be helped by this book also.

It might help you.  You could ask your parents to get it for you or to check it out of the library.  I think if they see that you are willing to do these exercises to improve your symptoms, they would like that.

Anyway, it has really helped me.
