Warning: ADD and Disability Insurance | ADHD Information

this system is ridiculous.

Rayray,

When you fill out the application (form) they ask what prescriptions (drugs) you take. Im an honest person so I didnt fabricate a story (lie). Which would be illegal and cause my insurance to be withdrawn (taken away) anyway.

I used small words to explain the bigger ones based on my estimate (clever guess) of your intelligence (smarts) from your previous posts. (posts you made before).

Hope that helps.

Um, no. Far better to be refused insurance right away before premiums are paid, then to make a claim and get nothing because you didn't disclose this or that. Never hide anything from an insurance company, unless you like paying insurance premiums for nothing.

Fallen - what was the exact reason for Northwestern's denial? They have to tell you why you were denied."based on your ADHD history" was the official reasoning. Thats ok.

Here's another tip:

You used 'insurance' twice.

maybe you would like to pay my 70,000 dollar

insurance insurance bills, and thats for six months

thanks for the tip expert

Home owner insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, name it.. not a single one has been a problem for me... maybe it is my income (which falls into the executive bracket) but i've never had a problem with refusals based on my ADHD. I was once refused for having a history of heart related problems in my family though, that was for an extended health care insurance (on top of the one my employer provides).

Oh well, whatchagonnado right.

Hemmie,

Interesting stuff. I'm likely in a similar income bracket as you - can I ask who you got your disability insurance from and whether they're national?

Thanks.

Here's an article that might be promising - these guys are covering depression in the workplace now!  They say they want to cover things that keep people away from the office.  Could be a good company!

Hope this helps.

I understand rejection too well, insurance companies stink.  For life insurance I  needed to go to some offshore one for no one else would take  me, why I am a insulin dependent diabetic and have AsthmaJust a heads-up, Northwestern Mutual just refused my application for disability insurance because of my ADD history.

Ironic considering I'm also an ex-smoker (20 years), a skydiver and a professional wrestler
I know this is serious but I was amused by the list of adhd-appropriate (or inappropriate depending) hobbies. My disability insurance is through work and is from Afflack.

Context, please?
