Concerta questions | ADHD Information
That is around the average dose for most children according to our doctor. We started at 8mg. I don't know what the doctor was thinking but it wasn't enough. When I asked about increasing it he moved it to 25mg and it's still not enough. He still needs more cause he has only 1 chore to feed and water the dogs 2 x daily and he will go get the bowls bring to the kitchen and go watch tv. he forgets what he was doing. He is still loud and immaturly behaves in public, like sitting on the floor or talking like a baby. It's not as bad but still a constant job to keep him in line with normal behavior that my 2.5 year old is already displaying. She has a different father. My son's father is where I believe he gets it or the combo of both. The average medication may go up too in the future when docs start doing research. We have been diagnosed for over 2 years and have not found the complete solution yet. The teacher has to be watched too. One was giving my boy daily Principle sessions for normal everyday things. I suspected but it was verified when he had no complaints from the next year's teacher. I wish you luck in your journey through your daughters treatment and wellness plan.My ds eats a cracker then just before he swallows ..... he pops the pill in!!!! Works like a charm!
Hi....My daughter is going to start concerta tommorrow. She was on Adderall. We went to the drs and i brought up the tantrums she was having. We decided it was time for a change .She said it would be good b/c its summer. But the hard part is that she doesn't swallow pills. How do i teach an 8yr old how to swallow pills.I went and bought some tic tacs but she just isn't getting it.The dr told me to start tommorrow..Any advice would be greatlly appreciated.
Oh by the way.She is on 36mg.Is that high? The dr told me she was starting low but it seems high since she was on adderall 30mg.
