best PDA software for ADHD for me. | ADHD Information

Everyone has this one thing that helps them most,

Mine has been this new pocket database software called hanDBase for the pocket PC. Don't let the title database fool you, its super easy to understand and do.

The point is you can make databases for everything, and its easy to switch from one to the other. You can also create forms to enter the information and add graphics.

You can also download thousands of other databases others have made.

So how is this helpful to my ADHD

I have created a database for my checkbook and Bills

I have created a Database for my work customers

I have created a database for stuff I need to remember

I have created a database for stuff I need at the market

I have created a database for names of people I need to remember (big one)

I have created a database for any phone messages left for me.

So now, when I walk in to work, I check my database for all last weeks phone calls and what still needs doing.

I find that I need to call that person in billing, so I open my name database, under billing it say Mark so and so,

I open my customer database, and look for any other things I might need to bring to mark, and find one about another customer.

On the way to Mark, John meets me in the hall and introduces me to Jill Underhill, the new Marketing supervisor. I shake hands.

When they leave I immediately add Jill to my Name Database and am comfortable knowing I will never forget her name now. I make a small note describing her in notes, and who introduced me, when we met.

Then a month latter I need to call her, I do and say, Hi Jill, Remember me, I met you in the Hall back when John was lugging you about back on the first of the month. I was wondering...... and here I look like I actually remembered when I first met her, but hehe..

Thats just the taste,

Its kind of like a task list and a project maniger all rolled into one. LOL

Hey it works for me.

Dave2u4now38662.5934722222I'd have to agree that lists are what makes my life function. I use Palm software with Documents to go. I keep all my phone lists and other documents on there and I also use the notes function to keep various lists such as to-do's, grocery, songs I want to put on a CD, and even a hidden list that has every username and password I need to know. It is an incredibly helpful tool. I even make lists for cleaning the house because nothing gets done unless I have some structure for feeling like I accomplished something. I love being able to check something off my list so a typical weekend will include cleaning each bathroom, sweeping, kitchen, going through papers, whatever and it gives me that little something that helps me actually start. And, it's even better when I make the kids do some of the housecleaning tasks because then I get to check even more off the list. I LOVE checklists. It's like a form of functional OCD.
