If they persist, try Clonidine (patch) and
Ritalin. This has proven to be a very good combo for treating ADHD /
tics.
My 12-year-old ADHD son has a mild tic disorder, and when he was on Adderall XR, his face got so jumpy the kids at school were asking him what was wrong with him. Needless to say, we stopped the Adderall. Stimulants do not cause tics but do exacerbate them. Clearly, you need to speak with your daughter's doc to see whether you should continue the Adderall or not.
You might also want to ask your doc about Focalin, a refined version of Ritalin that is supposed to cause fewer side effects. The neurologist my son sees for migraines says she prescribes Focalin to all kids she treats for Tourettes Syndrome, a severe form of tic disorder.
Sorry -- I wrote that about Focalin before I realized you edited your post. I personally think going back to the Focalin is a good move.
Maybe the IR adderall is better for your situation.
I notice different things with the IR then I do with the XR. Tics being
one of them. The xr seems more tic'y. and the ir seems more
sidey...
my problem with the clonidine and stim is, it takes more stim to
overcome the sleep of clonidine. It may be different for you, but I
don't know.
ask your dr.
bugzappers38663.6747569444My friends son is on Adderal and he has several different tics now.
They have put him on an anxiety drug to help with the tics.
When my son was on Adderal (he is not anymore) he did not have tics at all but he did have many other aweful side effects.
