Straterra and migraines | ADHD Information
I have found only one post where someone mentioned their children having
migraines while on Straterra. Is anyone else experiencing this? My child has
had horrible migraines, but they have lessened the older she has grown b/c
we have not increased her dosage on Straterra to accomodate her growing
bigger. I am looking into alternative forms of treatment.
But I am concerned about the migraines if we have to increase her dosage of
Straterra.
Thank you!
I don't know if it was my previous post, but my 12-year-old ADHD son, who has migraines anyway, had 2 full-blown migraines in 3 days of trialing 10 mg Strattera (a low dose indeed!). Needless to say, we discontinued it. My understanding is that headaches are listed as a side effect of Strattera, and the med works on Norepinephrine, which can cause headaches.
horrible migraines...ugh, sorry to hear about that.
How long has she been on Strattera? If she just started it may go away as she adjust. If she has taken it for some time that obviously will not be hte case.Headaches are one of the known side effects of Staterra. They show up in
the first month or so . . . along with dry mouth and several others. Some get
many, some get few. Everyone is different. It would seem that one has to get
to the first month to know if it will work, and if the side effects lessen.
