Well... The PHD who administered my test as well as both of my past Doctors have told me that when Bipolar then ADD/HD is automatically part of the equation.
Not trying to be argumentative, it's just that when three different professionals tell me the same thing, I tend to go along with the professional majority.
ZORG38666.4338657407 Imbalance, dopamine, seratonin, choline. what ever the chemical. if one is producing more than the other, you have an imbalance.IT's all a chemical imbalance. And now I MUST argue with you. ADD is NOT an intellectual anything.
Gotta stop now before I get out of control.
[QUOTE=bepatient]You for got a big CO-MORBID dx.
ADHD and ANXIETY.. bet it would be #1 or tie with depression.

For sure I agree with bepatient...Anxiety is the big one...along with depression...I have all three...
Anxiety and Depression are very, very often co-morbid with AD/HD, just due to living with it, especially into adulthood undiagnosed!
But we all know it could apply to either/and/or, right? GypsyWomyn38667.0218981481
[QUOTE=Davidornado]Hey, I learned that in Algebra II:I could see where they could make that mistake, but bipolar is more of an emotional impulsivity, where as ADD is more of an intellectual impulsivity.
This friend of mine is diagnosed bipolar, with meds and everything. He has no ADD sypmtoms whatsoever. He never proscrastinates on *anything*. Never missed a homework assignment in his life.
His symptoms are more like tears of joy when his sports team scores, or freaking out about little stuff.
All of the above.I've just been "cleared" from a depression diagnosis. My blood test apparently didn't show the markers for clinical depression, which is exactly what I explain to people who think I am clinically depressed: I'm NOT clinically depressed-- my depression stems from my life circumstances, and many of my negative life circumstances stem from the fact that I am ADD.
Of course, I should mention that I haven't been officially diagnosed with ADD. My first appointment is next week.

I'm with Trac on the dep n ADHD.It's my understanding that if a person is Bipolar, that ADD is a given. I guess that makes the choice you included redundant.
However, why did you not include ADHD? ADD does not necessarily include the H (Hyperactivity).
ZORG38666.4102893519Actually, I have a friend whos bipolar and very definately not ADD. He's a machine when it comes to focus and self discipline. His emotions get a little extreme sometimes, but he's not a daydreamer. He's a doer.Mine reads like alphabet soup, with ADD being the most minor of them....
Depression and Anxiety as a component of Complex PTSD....
Whoopee.
mine is comorbid Anxiety Disorder. thus I picked "other"

couldnt have said it better. depression as a result of add, the misunderstandings and sh*t. why dont people try to find out why i always forget to turn out the light, instead of assuming im a lazy arse and cant lift a finger to flick the switch?
So What's it gonna be?
