Driven to Distraction by Edward M. Hallowell Has anybody ever read this book? Did it help you to better understand ADD? I'm going to buy this book (along with many others), but I was hoping for some reviews first. After I buy this (and the others) I will post back on this thread to tell everybody what I think of this book. I hope this will help others like myself that are searching for more information about ADD. Also check out Delivered from Distraction I have a great respect for Edward Hallowell. It is also available on audio casette. I ordered it on ebay. I keep hearing about it - I'll let anyone who asks know what I think. It seems to have helped many accept their ADHD!thanks for the suggestion! I'll see how I like his first one - and probably will order that one too!I like the 2nd one much better.. it has more than just anecdotal stories about ADD. it seems like the first book is helpful in that it helps you understand what ADD is and isn't. then the 2nd book seems to go further and show the reader ways to deal with, accept and treat ADD. He lays it all out without judgement.. deals with medications, homeopathic, and technological treatments.. A very interesting book. I'm still working on it.. its taking me a bit longer to read it because of other distractions going on right now. But so far it is a great read! Sherry Yes, I would recommend the more recent Delivered from Distraction. It has more up to date information and talks about vaious approaches, without judging. I decided to give my family omega 3's after reading this. I think it helps my adhd son with depression.Koko Both of those books are good, but applying them can be hard. I know, mainly because it is just so much information!! After the holidays, I plan on trying some of the vitamin supplements he suggests in addition to my medication.. One little baby step at a time
