Wait That is so awesome, David!  I'm very excited for you.  Grandbabies are the best.  There really is no difference in being a grandparent than a parent.  You love em the same,  you care for em the same way,  you meet the same needs, worry about em the same.  It's just not 24/7 which is the silver lining.   Oh, and just like your kids, they take all of your money! What do I do now?
woo-hoo!

rugrats rock.

At least I'm not gonna be a DadD.

That would take a few miracles.

I'm fresh out of miracles.
but you are a DadD...  (which is good cos it's kinda hard to make it g'pa without being a DadD ) Davie I'm so happy!!!! :) Congrads to ya "soon to be grandpa!"  What do you do now??? Go shopping...but that is coming from a girls perspective.

[QUOTE=bepatient]I like Grampa Nado, it has to be that , "Grampa Nado", it's perfect!

That does have a nice ring to it and will be much easier for him or her to learn to say!

And David, you will take one look at that baby and melt! You will think you have been born to be Grandpa Nado and have finally found your true calling! Wait and see. One more kid to wrap you around her/his little finger!

But, but, how can this be?

I'm still so young; I'm so still me!

I  guess  it  will (remain to be seen),

I'm 50 years old....in a mind of sixteen.

Thank you, One, and All
For Being with Me,
In this fall.

We so Miss you!
Come back with prose,
This will not do.

Dave's Rhymes stink,
although writ in pink...

Just go with it ... I became a grandparent two years ago and, like so many things we view for years from the younger side, it is NOTHING like we imagine ...

It is wonderous ... embrace it.

David, there is nothing like holding your grandbaby in your arms. It is as good as holding your own baby. The hard part is, when the parent wants them back, you can't be selfish and say no. You can't keep them and take them home.

The best part is, you get to spoil them rotten and then when you can't stand them because they are so spoiled, you just hand them to the parents to deal with.

Seriously, I don't think its possible for a grandparent to spoil their grandchild too much. I think thats what grandparents are for.

Congratulations Grandpa!

Oh, I forgot. You need to figure out now what the baby is going to call you. MY vote is for Grampa Tornado!

I like Grampa Nado, it has to be that , "Grampa Nado", it's perfect!

Oh, I never said CONGRATS!  Could be a lot of fun. . I like the spoiling part and then giving them back!

Ooops, I meant '06

Remember, Grandpa's are indespensible!! Sitters of infants, spoilers of precious brats, gleefully returned to the ones who wouldn't listen to a parents pleading!

This could become very fun!!

I've met a great-grandma that was 45 years old, so feel lucky.

Congratulations on the good news! I think by all accounts, being a grandparent is the fun payoff for all the crap your kids put you through.

Prepare to SPOIL. I'm only an auntie, and I manage to go broke every Christmas and birthday buying stuff my little nieces simply don't need. It is LITERALLY true that the box the stuff comes in is WAY more interesting than the gift. Just get them big-ass boxes for Christmas and put the money you save in a college fund!

Ya only gotta be 15

If she had her kid at 16, her kid has one at 16 she'd only be 48 when grandkid has her own.  Welcome to Arkansas!!

OMG, I know her!  Think she's my cousin!

Congrats! David!

Be prepared to be the favorite Grandpa!! personal experience shows that the lil ones simply LOVE the ADDers in the family! Hee hee... just another one of those great advantages!!

For example, I'm known as " the cool aunt"  ( My neice  introduced me that way to one of her friends,, yeah, and this is the cool Aunt, her name is Sherry.. gotta love it!)

Sherry

 CONGRATULATIONS DAVIDO!! G"PA!!

I'm very envious of the grandparents-to-be talking about the potential.  I cannot easily have kids - and am approaching 40 quickly.  I think often about - what if I decide to have a kid through extraordinary means?  If I have one at 40 (depending of course me being stable enough to actually find someone who can tolerate me for 9 plus months) - I'll be 70 by the time I become a grandpa.  What if I tried at 50?

Scary.  But Tony Randall had his first when he was almost 80. Sadly he'll never see his kid grow up (Tony passed away less than a year ago).  I would not want that.

But I'm so happy for the prospective granpas and granmas!! Consider yourself lucky! Even if I have a kid now - I'll most likely be too old to remember if I have a grandkid if and when it happens!LOL!!

I feel for ya Nado.. My daughter is 22 so I could, If she decides, be a gr' ma.

I don't particularly want to be a Gr'ma...wait...stop...I'm a late bloomer, I'm still going to school, I still go to happy hours, I still get hit on....please wait!!!!  I need at least 10 more years to get ready!
