question about medicine. important | ADHD Information
I tried it for a while but my system just couldn't adapt to it. It gave me stomach upset and diareah. Now I take Adderall XR and Lexapro (an antidepresant, but also aproved for anxiety).
I would see about what I could about lowering my blood pressure (without meds) maybe a better diet, excersize, less stressfull job or lifestyle?
I know definately not to combine Straterra with Prozac and maybe some of the other antidepresants. I read that it's eliminated throught the liver by the same route and could potentially cause liver falier.
Could you try a somewhat low dose of Adderall XR, like 20mgs with the lexapro for your depression?
We're all different, but that combo. is the best I've found for ADHD with depression and/or anxiety.
Good luck
Yup, you got ADD.
Hey,
it works for some, and a fraction of the total did have delitory side
effects. This does not mean that you personally will have them. Be
aware they exist, and if they present, call your doctor immediately.
I'm on anti-D's (Cymbalta and Wellbutrin) and stimulants (RitalinLA),
and a hypertensive. Doc mitigates the HT w/ propranolol, a beta
blocker, that works well in concert with the above tank mix. Good luck!
Eyes open. Good deal you're
reading! That means you'll stay on top of your own meds, and more
importantly, your own body and mind. You live with yourself 24/7, and
the doc only sees you for 10 minutes, once a month, amongst 1200 other
patients. Document your observations, and call him as needed. We pay
these dudes alot of moola, so they are available upon OUR demands.
After all, it is your life, we're trying to manage, right?
Good luck, and welcome to this Tapestry (the sum of all threads)...

Hello,
I have a few questions about strattera. I was diagnosed with adult adhd
this week and the doctor put me on strattera. He said that since I have
depression with the adhd and somewhat high blood pressure, he did not
think a stimulant would be good for me.
I am about to fill the prescription but I am scared about the warnings I
have recently read about liver damage and negative side effects of
strattera. don't want liver damage! Does anyone here know about the real
dangers of the medicine? I am not scared of drugs in general, but the
warning is putting me off. I don't want to be on something like that long
term!
Has anyone here had a positive experience on Srattera? Is it the only
alternative to a stimulant? If you had a good experience on it, what kind
of ADD do you have? mine is without hyperactivity.
There is a long topic about stratterra here but it is just too all over the place
for me to read and understand.
i to have been newly diagnosed (2 weeks on meds now). i don't know much about strattera but my therpist did not want to put me on it he said most of his patents with adult adhd did not respond well to it, i am on adderall xr 10 mlg and i to have high blood pressure with one kidney as well my dr said that i should be ok as long as i stay on a low dose of the meds and they have me on blood pressure meds as well, so far i feel ok and will be going in next week to have blood pressure checked, was told that they will need to stay on top of the blood pressure for a while to make sure all is working as it should hope this helps
