It is really hard to find out the side effects of both drugs together. I would ask my pharmacist and see what she/he says. I was taking wellbutrin and straterra, and I loved the both separately. but they both worked on the same neurotransmitters, thus not a good mix together. I love wellbutrin and I am willing to give up straterra and try adderall and see what happens.
If I were you, I would look up how prozac works, what NT it works on and then see what part of the brain adderall works on and see if they are compatible, you are the ultimate test though. Look up something like adderall (dexedrine and Neurotransmitters) and prozac and see if it is an ssri or an mao inhibitor.
Good luck, I dont know what prozac does off the top of my head, but if you cant find anything, let me know and i'll look it up. I am currently taking an abnormal psy class.
hi everyone,
well i went to my therpist today to see how my meds were working(been on adderall xr 10 mg for 2 weeks now),i thought i needed my dose increased but dr wants to wait another month because of high blood pressure, but did put me back on anti depression meds so now i am still taking the aderalll along with prozac, and i can't seem to find any info on side effects etc on taking the 2 meds together any one got any info i sure could use it,my biggest concern is gaining weight and loss of sex drive
saphiremoon(jane)
hmmm Adderall a stimulant that works on the dopamine system
and Prozan a non-stimulant that works as a seratonin re-uptake inhibitor.
I really dont know if one would need both, the side-effects of the adderall are oppossite of what you are concerned about, i take it and feel increased sex drive and weight loss, it also cleared up any mild depression and mood swings i used to have. Lemme know if you have any other questions i can give you my email or something
Wow - I haven't had a panic attack since I've been on Adderall. Used to take Lexapro. It helped a lot with depression, but I still had major panic attacks. No they are no fun. Takes weeks to recover from them. Doc changed me to Wellbutrin and my anxiety has really lessened. Haven't had a panic attack in months. Knock on wood. The depression tho - it comes and it goes
Henceforth - My moods swing like un pendolo
Did I say "Henceforth"?let me complete your poem

Thanks RayRay, You saw right through my dismay.
Your words are truly so heartfelt
You saw the hand that I was dealt
Hey, Ray - Can you help me out with another one? What rhymes with
Like maggots in an owl pellet?
If he knows, he won't tell it.
Ask his co workers...they smell it!
I have ADHD with anxiety. I've been working with my Dr. on finding something to help with the anxiety. Prozac didn't seem to do anything for me. Lexapro addressed some of the anxiety, but I lost my motivation in the process. I didn't worry, but didn't care about anything either. I take 20MG adderall 2-3x per day, which helps me focus and concentrate, but counseling seems to be the only thing that has helped with the anxiety. Toomuch2do - Wellbutrin has really helped with my anxiety. I am able to do things, I was not able to do when on Lexapro. I am not as jumpy on Wellbutrin either. Take adderall too.Life is

Or is it
An experience
Maybe
An expression
Or an

An Expedition?
And then again
Sometimes
Life just
Sucks
Hey,
I take Adderal XR 20mgs. and Lexapro (an antidepresant) 10 mgs.
I have tried other anti-depresants with Adderal. Never read anything about it being harmful. (I research a lot)
I will say that Prozac, Celexa, and Zoloft all caused sexual side-effects (can't achieve the big O )for me. (That's enough to make you depressed!)
I don't have this problem with Lexapro. I'll try and find an article for you.

Hi, I've never posted on this board, but I see a lot of people talking about some very familiar things. I have taken adderal for ADHD in the past, but don't take it anymore because I started having panic attacks and was afraid that adderal was causing that by speeding up my heart rate or something. I take 100mg of zoloft every day and have been for several months now(for the panic attacks), but have had some problems in association with ADHD. My memory is shot (even more than usual
). I can't sit still, which seems to be worse with zoloft. I am afraid to stop taking the zoloft because I really don't want another panic attack (not fun!!). I love the great mood zoloft puts me in, but the side effects are killing me and driving my wife nuts too. Has anyone had any issues like this with zoloft because I don't find anything on the internet about it?? Also, is anyone taking adderal with zoloft?
HELP...I'm
hmm...thats interesting. I started having panic attacks when I started a stressful new job, so I figured it was either the stress or the adderal. Guess it was probably the stress. Do you know of anyone who takes adderal and xanax? Thats really what I was wanting to do. Just tired of taking the Zoloft...I feel like I'm in daze all the time and can't remember anything....
did you just say henceforth?
IF your MD says go ahead then it's fine. Xanax and adderall should be ok if your physician knows and says to do it.
Xanax works on anxiety and has a depressive effect. Therefore I'd think it would cut back on the effectiveness of Adderall but don't know for sure. But many here have used adderall and sleeping aids (not at same time mind you), and other combos safely.
Check your insert in your adderall for any interactions. I don't think there are though.
Check with your MD - my best advice!
