Frequent Chest Pain? | ADHD Information

Not taking meds yet.  -Hope someone can relate! Also hope those wicked pains cease!

Anyone here get frequent chest pain?  Before OR after meds?  I've always had chest pain, normally a couple of times a week.  It would come on, I'd sit there taking shallow breaths and wait, then it would pass.  Sometimes my heart would beat really fast afterwards for a few minutes.  I never had it checked out cause it would pass.  Yesterday, I upped my Concerta from 36mg to 52mg (not because i needed to but becauase he only gave me a 2 week prescription for 36 and the res tof the month is 52).  Anyway yesterday I kept getting taht chest pain over and over again, where I couldn't hold my son and it would come on without warning.  I am giong to get this checked out, just never did it before because it would pass and I've had it all my life and it hasn't hurt me yet even after 4 years in the Navy. . . anyway, anyone else have these chest pains?

ummm, yeah, definitely call the Doctor on that one!

I have frequent chest pains also.

But mine is from Acid Reflux Disease. I get a pain sometimes really bad in my chest but I do not  have any shortness of breath or heart palpatations...

those two things to me are a red flag for a more serious problem.. it might be mild panic attacks that you are experiencing ( is there such thing as mild??) or it could be even something going on with your heart.

either way, since it got worse with the upped dosage, it looks like the concerta may be exacerbating your  problem a bit.

I would get in to the Doc ASAP.  Its quite possible that it is nothing I suggested, cause obviously I'm not a Dr.

But  Please call him today and ask, OK?

Heidi, the next time that happens, GO TO A HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM RIGHT AWAY!!!!

I have had occassional weird heart events-- no pain, but sometimes my heart would race or beat strangely. These events were relatively brief-- the longest my heart raced was about 10 minutes.

I asked my GP about this recently, and she said that the only way to check it out is to go to a hospital emergency right away. She said it was good that the problem would work itself out (self-recovering is the word I believe she used).

It sounds like your problem is no longer self-recovering. GO TO THE HOSPITAL the next time you have that issue.
