3rd leading cause of death

Doctors Are The Third Leading Cause of Death in the US, Causing 250,000 Deaths Every Year

   GLEN'S RIGHT !!!!

People kill people.... well doctors are people... aren't they ?

... and I thought the drugs were dangerous !!!

Every 2 minutes, an American is killed by a doctor's mistake.

Wow Reality - you are letting yourself slip with this obviously skewed "report" of the Journal of American Medicine (JAMA) report.

Of these "doctor caused" deaths - very few are malpractice.  Let's go through the real reasons shall we??  I noticed you cut and pasted (did you get permission?) from a psycho anti-med freak that has his own "diet" for sale.  Homeopathic psychopaths don't make good sources reality.

Ok here are the deaths - and causes

Total: 250,000 (by the way - that's 250,000 out of 297,698,111 estimated total americans a VERY small number but that's not the point)

12,000 - unecessary surgery.   Now how exactly is it the MDs fault when a dumb rich person (or poor one) demands surgery that's legal and allowed and it's not healthy, safe or recommended? That's why they get you to sign release forms you know.  "unecessary" probably defines it as plastic (reconstructive) surgery, fat removal (very dangerous for many), stomach bypass, breast implants, etc.

7,000 - medication errors in hospital.  MDs fault - again how? Doc says give 10cc - nurse on call gives 100ccs? Now - you can blame the MD how??

20,000 - other errors in hospital.  Well you can blame the MD for these right? They have to include not allowing you in to tell these poor folks how they should refuse all meds - because unless they are dying they are bad.  You said it - I didn't.

80,000 - infections in hospitals.  Well you DID tell them to refuse meds! Now they are dead you happy?

106,000 - Non-error negative effects of drugs.  I note that the psycho put that one in red.  Why don't we analyze this? Anasthesia reaction.  Oh yes the MD should just have taken a page from realities' handbook and had 2 orderlies hold them down and just saw that ol' gangrene arm off without the meds! After all - no meds unless you are dying - and an arm gone won't kill ya!  Come ON! Anasthesia kills some - allergies to it are nearly impossible to know about ahead of time and even if you test they can sporadically occur in even healthy non-allergic people.  Pennicillin and other anti-biotics allergies.  Well - of course we shouldn't use them - let the streps and staphs do as they may! Oh - then the infection deaths happen oh that's too bad.

Wow - I didn't see even one case of an MD giving SSRIs, amphetamines or anything to a hospital patient and them killing themselves.  Not one! You'd figure that since it was on an anti-doc anti-psych anti-thought pro-money site they'd show at least one! Really? No?

You are such a fraud.

Here is the link he stole - in total.  Guy is a total insane freak.

Oh - so you all can see the real JAMA report that the psycho stole - here it is...

My oh MY! It is a pay for view site! And there is no copyright notice on the psycho's page crediting the original doc (as is required by US copyright law).

OH - and what have we here? It's a 2001 paper! Now reality - correct me if I'm wrong but you chide people for using old documentation ALL THE TIME - right?

Well you showed me.  Meds are bad.  Only use them if I'm dying.  Yes master.

What a stupid idiot you are.  You don't deserve my respect that I give to stray dogs and hobos.  You need to get psych help yourself.

Bars are killing more of there light drinkers when compared to there heavy drinkers.

I can make these claims also.  Common sense tells you this is wrong but i have hard data that proves my statement.

Table 1 depicts fatalities in traffic crashes by the highest BAC in the crash. There were 411 fewer alcohol-related fatalities (BAC=.01+), a decline of 2.4 percent compared to 2003. In crashes where the highest BAC was .08+, there were 269 fewer fatalities, a decline of 1.8 percent.

And you can blame the hospital clearners for 80,000 of those deaths because they didn't clean efficently and caused infections to spread or it's the patients fault for having a sub-par immune system.
This article, along with my statement about Bars are ridiculus. Just shows people will/can blame anybody for anything and somebody will write a paper on it

    It's quite believable.

A couple of drinks after work... you're still in "shape" to drive home at freeway speeds.... but your coordination has been seriously compromised.

There's no way I'll drive after drinking. It's not worth it at all.

Good Point Glen but for  infections, ithese are the janitorial staff, visitors, and patients fault.  Janitor's for failing to sainitize the patients and vistors, the visitors fornot allowing the janitors to sanitize them, and the patients for being sick and coming to a hospital with the nasty bacteria that spreads to others.  The patient that developed the infection would have overseen the jonitors sanitizing the floors, himself, the patients in the hospital, and the visitors.  Then these 80,000 deaths could have been avoidable
