clonidine | ADHD Information
Does he behave around anyone?And does he act like he needs a tranquilizer?
How about food, what does he eat?
And how does he relate with older men?
does he show only impulse? no curiousity?
If he shows curiousity. maybe you can link through to him on that level. Find things he is curious about, and figure out how to use them to get his attention to maybe break his cycle.
I really wonder about his dx.
He seems from what you post, to be more odd than add.
I would call the dr. and TELL them THIS IS NOT WORKING.
Then explain how it isn't working.
bugzappers38678.8540393518dillon is extremely hyper...he never sits down always on the go.. the doctor couldn't beleive how bad he was.. so he is giving it to him to calm him down.. I would cut the DAY pill out.
I cut mine into quarters and only take a pm dose.
That seems to remove the daily sleep.
be sure to feed him banannas and food(fuel) for the day.
AM is the most important time to eat, and this food will carry him all day.
Before you do any of this, you better check with your dr. though
my son just started taking clonidine last thursday..the 1st day he slept half of the day so the doctor said to cut it in half. we had a pretty good weekend with him ,we did noticed that he was alittle whiney..well this morning i dropped him off at his babysitters and he bursted out in tears. and was holding onto me for dear life.i have talked to the babysitter a couple of times today and she said that out of nowhere he will start crying...i'm just wondering has anyone else noticed this behavior with their child? .
I can only give you positives on our experiences with Clonidine. But I don't give her it until after 5pm. She takes a half of 1 at 5 and a whole one at bedtime and has been sleeping all night. Which is what I needed.
I am sorry for the experiences you are having. Hope it gets better for him soon.
How many mg's is he on?
the pill is on 0.1mg..the doctor said to cut it in half and give him it in the morning and night.. the 1st day he slept half the day away so the doctor said to cut it in 4 and give it to him morning and night.the morning dose wasn't lasting until bed time so doctor said i could give him another 4th in the afternoon...after 4 good days with dillon i have had a really Bad one with him today... not only did he seem to cry alot but he was back to is violent outburst,swearing and flipping out...so i call it...
dillon has been dx with bipolar-nos,adhd, and odd..which if you read up on bipolar it acts just like adhd and odd.. the reason the doctor was trying clonidine was because dillon is extremely hyper so the thought that might calm him down..but we still have the violent outburst.... And they use clonidine?
I guess I need to look at some of your other posts and back threads to familiarize myself.
