Ritalin Zombie | ADHD Information

You need to get a pyschologist , neuro preferred.

A general practitioner is good in all areas, but has no expertise in any one area.

A specialist is great in one area only.

You need a specialist in ADHD.

Go see a neuro psychologist or a psychiatrist or psychologist.

PREFERABLY ONE WHO SPECIALIZES IN ADHD

 Best of luck.

SEE ONE SOON. LIKE WITHIN A FEW DAYS.

You may need to find out about stopping ritalin. While your re-evaluated.

You may be taking the wrong stuff.

Ritalin is not for everybody, and you may need something else.

If your worried, stop now and go to an er.

You can stop ritalin cold, but it is up to you to. I am not telling you to stop.

 seek medical assistance for that.

And yes, most of us have to take a pill or do something to feel as close to normal as we can get.

bugzappers38679.8197222222My son is sensitive to slight changes in a dose of ritalin. he would get a bit zombie like if the dose was just a bit too high. He got a better effect if the pills were cut or the edges shaved off a bit..."finetuning"... He is on Ritalin LA, but uses shorter acting Ritalin too...16.25 mg (3 1/4 tabs of 5mg tabs) On the Ritalin LA we used to open up the capsule and take a small amount out.

Hello this is my first post here but I need some help...
I am a 24 y/o male who was diagnosed with ADHD last year and have been taking Ritalin 20mg for about a year now. I live in Israel and this is the only medication for ADD here.

I have noticed that I am able to concentrate alot more with more patience and focus. I am more relaxed and dont fidget as much. However, my brain feels fried and my thoughts are empty. Without meds my thoughts were all over the place, but at least I had thoughts flowing through my head. Now its like I'm running on auto-pilot all day and feel like a zombie. It is also making me in a depressed state and I am losing motivation to do anything as a result of how the meds are making me feel.

I am ready to discontinue my use of Ritalin. I am seeing a family doctor who Rx's me every month for the pills. He speaks hebrew and doesnt speak english. He is not a psych and I got diagnosed in Canada a year ago before I moved here. Its not like I can easily share this with him, so I am turning to all of you for help, advice, and suggestions.

I want to be normal like everyone else who doesnt take meds everyday. This is bullsh*t that I need a pill to keep me calm and focused when in turn its making me a zombie with no flowing thoughts, making me tired all day, and wierd side effects like cold sticky hands. I dont know what to do.

If anyone has felt like this ever please let me know. Thank you for listening.

I used to take ritalin, but now in the morning I take Concerta and SeroquelIMac,

I have not been able to separate the instant release from the slow release beads , if that's what you mean. For the most part when you take a random sample out, you get about 50/50.

In figuring out how much to take out, I actually counted each bead in there (twice) and I am pretty sure I came up with exactly 1000. (it was a long time ago) Then I poured them all out, made them fit within a rectangle shape, with an index card, drew a straight line around the group. After that I divided the rectangle with a ruler and figured out how much proprtionately I wanted to take out. I'd prep each capsule by taking out and filling up the small rectangle with the beads I wanted to exclude. Then i noticed that the amount I put back in the cap measured up to where the print was on the capsule. That wasn't as exact , but still good.

Now it's a smaller amount which I take out and easier...open the cap, lick my finger, put my finger over the opening of the cap and the number of beads that stick to my finger turn out to be an effective amount. It is a small amount but it allows him to focus yet keep more of the smile and laugh in his personality.

I hope that I answered your question.
On the Ritalin LA we used to open up the capsule and take a small amount out.
jfla, is there a trick to dividing the slow release beads evenly?
