adderall is an amphetamine. When you start you will feel some jittery feelings - usually not too much. It goes away when you've been on it a couple weeks. If it's very noticable (and you mention you've been on it 3 weeks) you should level out your intake until you feel more stable. The only thing you should feel is a higher heart beat (by feeling your pulse) and faster breathing. But it should be nearly unnoticable after you get used to it.
Best thing now is stay on 15mg until you feel totally ok with it. I stayed on 10mg dexedrine for a month before moving up to 20. It's best to not up the med if you feel the affect - and attempt to focus and control things at that level.
If it works for a while then the affect decreases (i.e. the fog returns or you feel the chatter return) - then check with your MD to increase slightly.
Less is better. That way you have a place to move if things get worse. Also - you might try as I do to take "med vacations" - where you remove all meds for a week every 2 months. It keeps your body from becoming so accustomed to the meds and gives you a jump-start back up!!
Good luck!
Let me know if you need to ask any more questions. Feel free to message me if you like.
Glen is right. It makes you feel jumpy at first. Then you get used to it.
Adderal worked great for me, but we had to up the dose, then the side effect of a dry mouth bothered me the most. But I thought it was worth the trade to be able to see things in a normal way, the way the rest of the world does. I'm glad I got to see what I had been missing for so long. It was like putting glasses on for the first time and being able to see.
Good luck to you.
I can't live without my Adderall. I notice it makes me talk alot, but the black cloud that usually hangs over me disappears and I don't feel so negative. For myself (and I WOULD NOT recommend anyone do this without consulting their doctor), I only take it on days I am working. The effects of it seem to carry over the weekend enough that I don't need it. 2 days without is the max, though.

Adderall RocksI came within a hair's-breadth of losing my job before I started taking Adderall. Thank God I had the wisdom to press my doctor for medication when I did. The moment I started to take it, things turned around at work due to my improved disposition and self-awareness.

I started Adderall XR Oct 26th after my 8th grader was put on strattera and this Oct 25th:-)
I am now on 20mg and struggling a bit but found some comments by Glen and others that will be helpful. I am taking 20mg everyday and would love to not take it on the weekend for a break. I too find it lasts all day and evening so maybe I will try next weekend.
I also find I am not my crazy "Julia" anymore and I am not sure I like that. So, learning a lot and still evaluating. I do have a job in technology so I fully love the new focus for work. It is really strange to have this going on after so many years of being AD/HD. I am 43 so I have some habits established that are hard to break as well. Lots to think about!
