another ? about clonidine | ADHD Information

My son has taken Clonidine for years to help him sleep, though he doesn't take it every night.  He's never had nightmares from it.  Your poor daughter!!  Have you tried Benedryl?  It might be worth a try...Yes, I did try Benadryl, but unfortunately it effected her in the opposite way.  It made her hyper!  I went out today and bought a medicine called melatonin (in the vitamin section).  I just gave it to her, so I have my fingers crossed.  Thanks for the advice!Sheri M. I had my 5 year old on Clonindine also. She had terrible dreams almost every night. She was also whiny in the morning and had a very difficult time getting up (much more than usual). I eventually took her off it as the side effects werent worth it. I am now looking for another way to get her to sleep at night. If you hear of anything let me know! I wish I could help you more.i was just wondering if anyone has ever noticed that they or there child had night terrors on clonidine. dillon just started taking it almost 2 weeks ago and we have noticed that he is having bad dreams..i'm not sure if it is the med or just another sign of bipolar...i know night terrors is a sign of bipolar but he hasn't had them until the meds..anyone..
